Newb with a 2012 Wrangler

I'm new around here, but I just wanted to say that I picked up my White 2012 Wrangler Sport two days ago. The last Jeep I owned was a 98, so this is obviously a different animal.

First impressions...

Great power. I had driven my friends 2011 and just before I went to pick one up, I checked local inventory online. Then I read about the 2012's, becasue some were already on the way. Turns out that I only had to wait two days to get the 2012. The dealer told me he's a bit concerned that now that there are 12's available to test drive that he might sit on the 11's for a bit.

Nice ride, nicely equipped ( I have the S package, Soft top, 5 speed, sirius radio, Infinity audio, trailer pkg, etc.) and a pleasure to drive.

I usually drive a big ol' 2011 Escalade, but it's been sitting in the garage for a couple of days now. When it cools off a down here (Florida) the Wrangler top will come off and I'll just drive it when weather is right.

All in all, quite enjoyable.

Now I'm investigating some aftermarket GPS/AM/FM/CD/DVD/iPod/Sirius in dash systems to replace the infinity stocker. Any advice would be well appreciated.

Regards,

Mark

If you replace the stock head unit, you'll need an adapter to work any aftermarket stereo with the Infinity powered 7-speaker/sub setup. You'll also need an adapter to keep the steering wheel radio controls working. And, I believe you'll also lose the Voice Recognition system. I was looking into the same as you, adding a radio with GPS, however I like the VR system and the pairing with my Droid.

I checked out Crutchfield. JVC makes a couple of units that are double DIN and have a detachable face. Other than that, Alpine or Pioneer makes a couple of nice units also.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll do some research and try to choose wisely.
