Newbie -> 2" BB questions...

I have a 4-door Unlimited X. I really don't do much off roading other than some trails and streams. I definitely don't do any rock crawling or plan to flex the Jeep. I want to do a 2" lift but want to make sure that it's safe and won't change the ride quality when I'm on the road. I have seen SO many 2" lift kits ranging from just spacers to a full spring/shock/spacer kit and this is confusing.

What would you guys recommend for a solid 2" lift kit that isn't going to break the bank?

I would look into this:
Quote:
TeraFlex JK Wrangler 2.5” Budget Boost

The 2.5” TeraFlex budget boost is the most economical lift for the JK Wrangler. The budget boost is designed for JK owners who wish to lift their vehicle without many modifications. The budget boost will increase off-road performance. Several innovative features of the TeraFlex budget boost are found in our exclusive spring retention spacers that do not allow the spring to drop out during extreme articulation. The kit comes with spacers, bumpstops, swaybar links and choice of shock adapters or TeraFlex shock absorbers.
If planning to use stock wheels wheel spacers must be purchased. We recommend spidertrax wheel spacers with this kit.
Its about $235 and another $145 if you get their shock absorbers. Wheel spacers if you are getting larger tires run about $200 for 4. There are many JK'ers running this setup.

Daystars is $159.95 for front and rear kit or get a combo kit with a 1-3/4 spacer lift and body lift for around $269.00

shocks...

Thanks for the feedback.
Is there any risk of damage if I just do spacers and keep the stock shocks/springs?

The TF kit I mentioned above has the option for shock adapters. The adapters allow you to use your stock shocks. The pucks go above your stock springs, so there is no change there either.

You do not need to get longer shocks, I up longer ones one our JK for more Flex.

I have the Daystar-have been very, very happy with it. The ride did not change at all. Make sure whoever installs it, trims the front bump stops. The instructions do not mention it, but mine needed it. I run 35s with no problem.
