Newbie has problem with new jeep

Hi everyone,

Bought my first Jeep about 3 months ago and I need some advise on a problem I am having. I bought a 2010 Unlimited Sahara and the problem has nothing to do with; lack of power, leaky roof, bad headlights, rough ride, or any other of the common "problems". Mine is more serious, it is causing me to loose sleep. My problem is I have to keep getting up earlier and earlier to beet my wife out the door, otherwise the Jeep is Gone. She was even resorted to wild and passionate love making, too tire me out, so I sleep in. Any advise would be appreciated.

I have similar problems on the weekends when the top and doors are off. I'm thinking of setting up a perimeter alarm.

I say ride that train as long as you can and let her drive it.

Same problem here. Ever since I bought the thing, she can't keep her hands off of it. I can't blame her though.

One of my best friends and his wife have 2 Jeep's. One is a Rubi and the other a Rubi Unlimited. This would be the perfect sales pitch to get a 4 door unlimited for the "family" car. Then she can drive her own, and you can mod yours out.

Worse case scenario, keep acting liket his REALLY bothers you, and you will have the time of your life in bed.

My husband won't even try to drive mine. He says it rides like a cement truck, the wipers are in his way and five speeds are a pain in the ass. I have to provide wild nights to GET him to drive it! Win-win either way

My friend's wife has been bugging him to replace his front bumper. Maybe this is what she should do to finally get him to get it installed.

Welcome aboard and congrats on the purchase.

I'm lucky; my wife prefers to drive the MINI. She likes to go fast.

I understand the situation, but I don't see the problem. This seems like something I could learn to live with.

That sucks. My wife hates my jeep. She thinks I spend more time with my jeep than with her. (TRUE) It works out for me, I never have to worry about it leaving in the morning before I wake up.

My wife would drive mine but I'd have to put blocks on the pedals!

She's happy with her PT Cruiser. I must be a good husband because I still enjoy the benefits of a great marriage. lol

My husband says the same thing! He drives a F150 and it drives like a Cadillac. He hates the 5 speed part, and says its too loud. I bet he won't be saying that when he can ride in it with the top off and doors off this summer.

I see some serious problems developing in this marriage.
  • First, she wears you down the night before so she can drive the Jeep. What are you doing wrong? I would think that you could use this same tactic, but she has plenty of energy in the morning. You should work on your technique.
  • Second. If the Jeep was bought as your vehicle and you allow her to leave you with her's, you won't be worrying about the first problem for long. She's obviously running the show and will just take control of the Jeep. Do a search of the forums for pink Jeeps.
  • Third. Your Jeep should be your Jeep. Period. First you'll lose your Jeep, then your choices in entertainment, next she'll be buying your clothes for you, and then you might as well turn in your male parts.
Man up guy, tell her what’s what! Of course you’ll probably end up sleeping in your Jeep for a few nights and the great sex will never happen again, but you have to prioritize!

I'd knuckle under for the great rituals part but I'd also look for the out that has you end up using the jeep most of the time. This might require a lot of stamina on your part though. I have this problem without the jeep problem since she discovered his and hers OMFG.

When I tried to put my foot down about taking my TJ, my wife bought her own JK Sahara. Now I'm stuck driving the family car (Rubi Unlimited). And there is no argument. At my age, the Jeeps are the only thing I get to drive

Welcome! And it's a great post!
