Newbie Here

Hey Y'all,

Long time reader, first time poster; some really great rides on here!!

Figured I'd start posting since I'm starting in on the mods

My goal is an expedition rig, but since it's also my daily driver, got the Sahara.

So far the mods are cosmetic: Stubby antenna, vent guard, Plasti-Dip'd the rims/emblem.

Just received today (installing next couple of days):
Hyline mid-width bumper, recessed winch style
Hyline skid plate

Near future mods:
Dual battery tray
air compressor
winch
2" lift for levelling/ground clearance

Future Mods:
new rubber/rims
snorkel

Any tips/tricks would be much appreciated.

I'll be detailing the bumper install in the JK Tech forum.

Thanks all!!!!

For an expedition rig, I'd consider a Teraflex performance leveling kit or the RK 1.5 inch kit. You could go up to a 2.5 inch too. Then stick with 33's to save weight and wear and tear. Good advice for a DD too. You're probably looking for long range reliability rather than absolute maximum ground clearance and with light 33's you don't need to worry as much about axle upgrades.

Check out the Genesis dual battery set up. Pricey but well thought out and saves you the hassle of trying to wire them up.

Looks good so far and

Thanks for the info! Genesis system is new to me, so cheers for the heads up. A 2.5 lift on 33's is the eventual plan; geez, just empty ever pocket, eh?
