Newbie Here: Who HAS NOT had a head issue?

Hey All,

Coming out of a 2005 Grand Cherokee...looking at getting a JK Unlimited Rubicon at the end of the year.

I've read every post in the tick thread and am a little worried. Just wanted see who else has a 2012 and up and hasn't had the issues described in the thread.

I know everything has issues....I have a JEEP of course...but this whole JK tick thing really kind of makes me worry I'll end up with these issues too.

So....who hasn't had this tick issue? And is anyone from So Cal?

Thanks!

Joe

Welcome to the Forum...I have no issues with my '12 JK Sport.....20K+ miles...FWIW I think there actually is a very similar thread...something about who has had no problems with their JK? or something like that........................

I've got a '13 with 2300 miles so far and no sign of ticking. A buddy here at work has a '12 with ~5000 miles with no ticking, but he does get some lifter noise on cold starts that goes away pretty quickly.

2012 no issue, OC socal.

its not all, just a select few. You really don't need to worry since it will be covered under warranty anyways.

and its a head issue, not a header

I would assume that everyone that has not complained in the head thread, has not had the issue.

Same here... 6000 miles, lifters rattle for 5-10 seconds but only a couple times a week. Runs like a champ... No other ticks.

2012, 13000 miles...no issues with the engine for me. Only thing I've had a problem with is the clock keeping time as well as a knock off Rolex.

'12 with 11k miles. No issues and I've been listening close since the first time I heard about the issue on others.

No headers since my RB powered 1971 Roadrunner.

No ticking on my '71 Roadrunner or my '13 JKU.

There are two revisions to the original head, AB and AC. If you search the threads more you'll find a reference to the head date/number in terms of what head you have. The AB and AC heads are supposed to be free of problems.

Header or heads? Never heard of any trouble with headers myself.
