Thinking about pulling the trigger on what i think is a great Jeep.
My inspection came back with what I thought was a lot of under carriage rust. But I am reading that this is very normal. I would really appreciate any feedback. 2008, 18k miles. Sell Price 19.2k
Good job on getting that inspection! I've seen that kind of online report, pretty cool.
The price might be on the high side, but not much. I bought mine about 5 mos. ago and paid about $1500 less than you are, and mine has a hard top. So long as you feel comfortable with the purchase, do it.
Having said that... I don't really see where much engine diagnosis was done. Maybe it was there and I overlooked. Anyway, the problems I've read about concerning the '07 to '11 Jeeps involve the motor. Spun bearings mostly.
Just be sure if you do buy it, to carefully watch your oil consumption. If it goes low, and it likely will between changes, you can get into trouble fast. I don't use the Jeep oil recommendations. I switched to conventional 10W-30 and change it every 5,000 miles. It will usually be about a quart low by 2,500-3,000 miles after the change. I typically use Castrol or Mobile Super, depending on if one is on sale or just cheaper.
