Hi all,

Hopefully this is posted in the right place!!

I've recently bought my first Jeep back in July. She's a second hand 2013 JK Unlimited bought her for a fraction of what she's worth given the condition and low kilometres.

I'm looking into doing a fair bit of modifications but I just have a few questions so figured I'd ask here!!

After she's loaded with barwork I'll be looking at putting a 2.5" lift into it in the near future, along with this I'd like to put some bigger tires, probably some BFG KM2s (unless I can find some tires that are better suited to the wranglers?).

With this in mind, if I put bigger tires on, how much will this affect the electronics of the EVIC? ie. Fuel economy, distance left til empty etc. Or is there a way to update the system to accommodate the bigger tires?

Thanks,
Rhiannon

The AEV procal will help with upgrading to bigger sizes. It will adjust your speedo based on tire size, adjust shift points (automatic transmission), change tpms values, and other neat stuff.

Fuel economy?? That will be based on your driving habits, location, and jeep setup. Going bigger will always tend to lose a few distance to empty/mpg. Stay with all terrain tires...less rolling resistance compared to a mud terrain given the same size/weight.

I get about 320distance to empty, and 17(ac on all the time)-19mpg on 35 KO2's. My oem km tires were netting me similar figures...and they are smaller lol

The "specifics" are going to depend on the specifics of your Wrangler.

I have a Rubicon 2-door with 35x12.5 General Grabber Red Letter E-load rated, off-road tires, 2" Mopar lift, Quadratec Moab wheels, automatic transmission and 4.10 gears and am getting 14.8 MPG in city and 18 MPG in hwy. Each tire weighs 89 lbs, and each Quadratec Moab wheel 22 lbs.

My Sahara 4-door with 286/70-17 Goodyear Duratrac D-load rated all-terrain tires, AEV Savegre wheels, automatic transmission and 3.73 gears is getting 16 MPG in city and 19 MPG in hwy.

I run both at the recommended 37 psi, and both Jeeps still have the front air dam.

Welcome to the forum.
