newbie with some questions

Hello all, I got a Wrangler about a year ago. I added some mods here and there. I saved some money to buy some grill inserts. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it's best to buy it in store or buy it on ebay? Are they easy to install too or should I have a professional do it?

I also just became a police officer a few months ago. I bought a gun safe for under my seat, but I have a 2013 and they said it wouldn't fit. Does anyone know where I could get one?

Lastly, I ordered LED dome lights for my jeep when I first got it. My lights to the rear view mirror would stay on, I took it to the dealership and they explained when you put LED lights in it that causes the wires to 'bleed' and I was wondering if I could fix this or ?

Sorry for lumping all these questions into this thread. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me out.

I got the Aluminum Billet Grill inserts on Amazon. Took me longer to open the box than it took my 9 year old daughter and I to install them.

As for the grill inserts, go to YouTube. There is a DIY using gutter guards. Bought all the material a month ago for around $40-50. Hope to have time to install this weekend. The video uses something different but I found the gutter guards at lowes and they were already painted black. A third the price and just as good, if you like the mesh pattern that they have.

I second the gutter guard grill mod. It's cheap and easy. But if you prefer the pre made go for it. I would If I could afford it. Here's my grill with the gutter guard.

Congrats on the job. I'm FD for 29 years my dad was Chicago PD also. Tough work but good jobs if you can hack it.

I am dealing with the exact LED issue you have right now. I ordered green LED's from superbrightleds. I did not get CANBUS bulbs. I have a 2 door and the mirror thing happend to me. I just sent the bulbs back to get CANBUS bulbs however one member here told me to turn the lights around in the holder. Too late for me I sent them back already. I would tell you to at least try this and see if it makes a difference. I dont know if you have a 2 or 4 door but I know if you have a 4 door the rear dome lights need to be CANBUS bulbs. Hopefullt this helps. Flip them and let me know what happens. Good luck with the Jeep and stay safe on the job.

I had the same issue (I wanted Red and they don't make a Red CAN Bus bulb for the rear). I did not try flipping the LED upside down, instead, I popped my rearview mirror open and unplugged the lights in it. Problem solved. The lights were serving no purpose to me anyways... They are not Red, so it annoyed me, and I have my rearview mirror flipped upside down for better vision out of the rear, pointing the lights towards my roof.

Well seems you got the first and last questions answered.

The 2013+14 have less space under the seats. As far as I know, nobody is making an underseat gun safe for those years.

The gutter guards were not as expensive as I had thought, about $3 a piece. Only took 2 of them but I had bought 7 just in case.
