Newby question on tire size and setup to run

I got a sahara 4 door completely stock and I want to run bigger tires. I'm staying with the stock wheels that are 18 inch and I want to run 33x12.5R18 will I clear everything under the fender with that setup? Will I need spacers? Will it be good to do the 2" lift of the spacers in the springs? I'm really new to this and I want to have the best setup I can have..

You need spacers to run a 12.5" wide tire on a stock wheel. Spacer lifts are the least expensive way to gain ground clearance. Not the most recommended method, but it does gain clearance. I run coil spacers on my TJ with no issues, will probably do the same on hubby's JK. If you want to do it the most popular way, do a complete lift, with springs and shocks. If you need to save money and don't mind sacrificing some ride quality and flexibility, then spacers should be fine.

Welcome to the forum, don't forget to wave...

Thank you so much for answering, I'm planning on just doing the coil spacer I really don't need much of a lift still need my girlfriend to be able to get in the car.... Lol and the spacers I've ran spacers all my live on my Volkswagens. My plans are to do minor mudding and daily driver. Would you know the size of spacers I should run for the tire size I'm looking for ?

Sorry, I didn't fully comprehend your first post. I thought you were inquiring about using coil spacers vs. spring/shocks.

I didn't understand that you were asking about wheel spacers as well. Wheel spacers require regular maintenance to ensure safe operation, but as long as you torque them periodically, so one doesn't work it's way off, you should be fine. You will need spacers or new wheels to put on 12.5" tires. At least 1.25" spacers I'd think, your stock bs is probably 6" and you want to put on 1.25" (roughly) more tire to the inside, so I'd go with 1.25" spacers.

Hopefully others more familiar with JK bs will chime in to confirm or deny my thoughts...
