News on Teraflex Tire Carrier?

Does anyone have any information on possible mounts for a Hi-Lift Jack or Rotopax for the Teraflex Tire Carrier? I caught the spare tire dropping off a ledge and warped my tailgate and I would like to get the weight off the tailgate. I was looking at the Teraflex due to its subtlety and ease of install; however, I would really love a place to put my jack and carry extra gas. Thanks for the help

I love the carrier. I have not heard recently as to when the extra mounts come out. I got my carrier in mid-june or so and they said another month or two at that point so it should be close if not now I would think.

That's my install thread, check it out. I thinking about getting the or-fab carrier, but when I saw this one worked with the tailgate and they were working on the mounts, my decision was made. Plus it give you the liberty of using any rear bumper you want Everything went on perfect and easy. I have not had a single rattle or noise from it at all either. I'd get if again and again.

Call or e-mail Teraflex and ask them. I am sure they will know.

Just as an update, I emailed Teraflex about this very thing 2 weeks ago, and this is what I got:

" Hi Chris. Not yet, it should be available some time next year. Thanks for your interest. Doug.

Not very inspiring, to say the least.

Yup, they told me the same thing. The accessories are in development and will be out in a few months.

Right, but what gets me is that in their promo video, they actually highlight the rotopax mount and state "it's available separately"

I dunno, whatever...

Dang, I was hoping they would release it a SEMA. I'm still on the fence about what tire carrier to get and I would like to see if/how mounting a hi lift or rotopax on this carrier would work :/

Same here, but I can't wait until "sometime next year". It pretty much has made the decision for me to go with AEV. Too bad, it looked like a pretty sweet setup. There was a couple guys that posted about doing some fab work themselves for accessory mounts. Not for me though, I have a hard enough time building things out of play-doh.

My decision for bumper is guided mostly by accessory mounts. So far, the full width LOD seems to be the best bang for the buck. I'd get a shrockworks but its a $600 difference with the LOD, but I just can't see the reason why.

Lots of posts on it, and it's scarce availability, in this thread, if you start w/the last few pages: TeraFlex JK HD Hinged Carrier & Adjustable Spare Tire Mounting Kit

Yea, I read and posted in that thread in its entirety, but a lot of it is about the gas cans, etc. Thanks for y'all's help though.

Did you end up getting this and if so what's been your experience so far? I'm looking to add this setup to my 2012 JKU and want to get feedback, good or bad. Thx

This is not Teraflex, but here is another company, MORryde, that sells heavy duty tailgate hinges for the JK and they are about to come out with a tailgate reinforcement assembly that ties into the hinges and works like the Teraflex heavy duty hinge / tire carrier. For these heavy duty hinges, these sell kits that let you mount a high lift jack or a Rotopax gas can. Extreme Terrain sells these hinges under the Barricade Offroad name. Check out these thread about them.

Here is a link to their hinges and accessories. The company said that the tailgate reinforcement assembly would be available for purchase in 2 weeks. There are some pictures of the reinforcement assembly on their web site. It is supposed to cost less than the Teraflex too.

I use the Teraflex HD hinge, TF tire carrier and the assescory mount for the Hi-Lift Jack or Rotopax containers. I haven't had any negative experiences with them. I use the mount for the jack and I carry my Rotopax containers somewhere else. I haven't had any rattles with the jack mounted and it has always stayed secured while off road.
