I had a set on my toureg. I was doing some off roading on an old, grown over, logging road and got punctured on a sharp rock. At the time I didn't think it should have happened.

Of course the specific does not prove the general, but that was my experience.

I don't have any first hand knowledge of the terra grapplers but I just removed a set of trail grapplers because they were like giant boulders on my Jeep. I had a hard time trying to track down the weight of Nitto's tires when I was looking to get a new set. I don't know if that's something they kinda keep on the down low but I called them directly after I bought them to find out. I should have called before.

The trail grapplers were heavier than any other MT tire in the size I used to have. They weighed more than most 33" tires and I bought the 32". Each tire was like 60 pounds! If you can.... check out what the weight and rolling resistance is and revs per mile of the ones your interested in. I found out the hard way.

The Nitto Terra Grapplers are one of the best all terrian tires available. Also, the Toyo Open Country AT is virtually identical and is even manufactured in the same plant.

I've been driving grapplers for 13k miles now . Love em . Great for everyday driving , not too loud , handle rain and snow very well .

Yes stock 265/70R18 . Am hoping to do a 2 inch budget boost and 2 inch spacers soon . When I turn the wheel all the way , there is slight rubbing but very little issue . I bought the jeep cuz I love no doors and topless summers , and 4 wheel drive hard top winters . I had a blast when we got 4 feet on snow last winter here in Chicago . Tires handled way better than my snowblower did :-)

Don't have the terra grapplers, but do have the dune grapplers in the 285/65r18 on my 2011 jk. I was fine with no rubbing at all. I've got a 2.5" bb (rough country) lift on there now and certainly no problems.

thanks much smirak, exactly what I needed to know. I'm hoping to do as you did. Wheels first and then lift later, this can be one expensive hobby!!

I have Terra Grapplers on my JK. They are a great tire and have handled well both on and off road. I am running 265/75/16 and think it fits the stock JK perfectly, although I am about to do a lift so will probably want to go bigger.
