No cruse control

My cruse control is not working. None of the warning lights are on and everything else seems to be working fine. Push the button, nothing, honk the horn, push the button nothing. Turn the wheels every direction, turn off jeep, nothing.
Any ideas, I'm heading on a 14 hour drive in three weeks to do some wheeling and would like to have it working before I leave.

No idea for sure, but I think the plate that connects all the wiring on steering wheel to harness could be going bad. I can't remember what the connector is called, but it sits inline with steering wheel that allows wheel to turn and wiring connection stays in tact. My EVIC controls started doing this where they don't work and then I turn wheel and they start working.

Also, check all the fuses. Electrical is not very much fun to trace, but if you can get to wires you can test if there are signals running through them. I had to do this on my Infiniti, but Nissan gives you access to full service manuals with every wiring diagram and proper ohm load, etc.

Good luck.

Clock Spring, check the clock spring. A dealer can replace rather quick. Not sure what year your Jeep is, but some earlier models were on an extended warranty for this item.

I've had this happen on the newer 2011-2013 Jeeps with new interior. Strange enough, I cleared my paired devices and reinstalled them and it worked again.

Try clearing any paired devices, as weird as it sounds it's happened on 2 different Jeeps I've borrowed. I had a BlackBerry, that could also be the problem.

My jeep is a 2007 JKUR, I just purchased it from a friend and it only has 3600 miles. Yes 3600. I made an appointment with the dealership to have a recall taken care of and there going to check that out as well.

was going to suggest brake lights as well, I've experienced some vehicles that the 3rd brake light burned out and disco'ed the cruise function, one guy had a Caddy w/built-in LED bar, cost him $400 just to get the cruise back working due to a brake light prob, crazy !!!!

We had a brake switch go bad after an accident - the brake lights worked fine - but it had enough of an issue that the cruise wouldn't work. I don't know if this could apply to the Wrangler, but the part was $15 for our Sebring.

The dealership says the clock spring needs replaced. $450 bucks. Is it worth it to have them do it or is that something that is easy to replace.

Mine did the same thing, I read on here to slap the steering wheel like it owed me money at the 2 o’clock position. I thought that is crazy, I was driving from Miami to Pensacola so I figures why not. I put the wheel straight and sacked it with my palm of my hand at the 2 o’clock position and my cruise has worked ever since. I had an issue with the steering wheel buttons not working and the horn honked for that fix. It seems the techs at Wrangler were high when they came up with these fixes. Anyway whack the wheel before you pay the big bucks what do you have to lose.
