No Urgency with these Recalls

So I received my letter for the transmission oil cooler tube recall 3 months ago which stated that there is a problem and it needs to be fixed. However, it states that I need to wait to receive a second letter from Chrysler (due to parts availability) then I can go get it fixed. Well, the second letter came, called dealership, and they say they are only getting 1 part per week for the recall! So now I am on a waiting list at the dealership. Is is that hard to make a foam or rubber cover for these tubes?! Where's the urgency for this critical fix?

My JKU has an April 2012 build date and I am dreading the day I hear a tick in the engine. Mainly because I only have 5200 miles on it and I bet the warranty will be expired by the time the parts fail!

Just venting.

It's Chrysler Corp., be thankful they are even acknowledging there is a problem.

Just crank your steering wheel to the left, and then put a piece of rubber between the lines.
It's a very simple fix.

As for your cylinder head concern, well just keep in mind, that it only happens to a small percentage. Why some and not others, well that's anybody's guess. Just make sure that you have coolant in your overflow bottle, and that the coolant does draw back, "return" to your radiator when cooling down. I only mention this, because some have had to replace their defective radiator caps.

Has this been addressed in the 14? Where is the area to look at the possible rubbing?

I believe Missoula Mt has the worst dealership in the nation lol. I would rather walk across glass barefoot then to try and get something fixed there..

I also have 5200 on a JK with May 12 build date. I talked to service manager at dealership when I had it serviced last week about the warranty expring before the problem would occur. I did get an extended warranty because of the 3.6 problem but he said even with the warranty expiring they will still usually cover a known problem for roughly 2years/24k miles beyoned the warranty. I have no way of knowing whether they do or not but I thought I'd pass the info onto you.

And BTW, it's a bit annoying it takes so long to get the recall parts. They were unusure they'd have the part for last week when I had the service. I called the day before to double check and they said they did. When I got there the next day they did not. I got a call yesterday saying it is now available.

Only chrysler would prefer to service vehicles AfTER the disaster happens, not before.

I had an appointment at my dealer Monday for the repair. Went up and then took my puppy for a walk. Came back a half hour later and they told me they don't have the parts. WTF did they schedule me if they didn't have the parts. This doesn't look like a very expensive fix. You'd think they would have jumped up production to get them all changed out.

Chances are it's a 3rd party producing it, and their output barely covers the '14s being built. I doubt we'll see this recall truly be taken care of until the '14 production slows down.

Chrysler also sent me a very formal email letter stating that there is no problem identified with the 2012 cylinder heads! This while they quietly replace thousands and revise the design 3 times since! I traded both my 2012's for a 2013 and 2014! Glad I did!

Mine's going in Monday and they already told me if it needed new parts I'd have to bring it back in another week. They will even pick up and deliver. I like this new Jeep dealership in my town.
