NON-Newbe Noise question/Debate

Hello all,
2012 JKUR 5 speed auto...wondering if anyone knows or has noticed when coming to a complete stop.. hearing a slight "Click" from under the Jeep.. Sounds like the tranny kicking down.. there is no "click" when you take off.. just when you come to a complete stop.. at a red light or stop sign.. just curious on your thoughts.. comments.. this is by no means a complaint

Maybe see if you can record the sound with your iPhone or some such thing. It's hard to get a handle on what type of sound you're hearing.

Sounds like it may be just the normal solenoid chatter that most Chryslers have.

Its just a very faint " Click " its completely repeatable while driving.. no radio on.. when you come to a complete stop.. just wondering.. doesn't sound obnoxious.. but after all these ticking and clicking threads.. i guess everyone is paranoid and listen to every thing.

Check to see if you have a rock/stone stuck in the tire treads. It will make a click sound

Believe me.. That was my first guess.. This noise sounds like something is engaging/ disengaging underneath! My wife says I'm crazy and she can't hear anything.. Just a faint click... It's no big deal I was just curious if anyone had an answer.. All my buds jeeps do the same thing.. All 2012's

My 2012 JKU does not make any noise when coming to a stop, and I just took a test ride with the windows open to make sure. It sounds like something dry, and maybe the yoke/spline. I am posting this video just as an FYI and not suggesting there is a problem like the Ford issue:

Maybe next time at the dealer just mention that this may need lube.

I can hear the same thing in my 2012 (I think). Only heard it the other night with the top off, doors off, radio off, no other cars around, and no crickets chirping. It's very faint. Warbird24 is probably right, it sounded like a solenoid. It only clicks a few times while coming to a stop. Seems to correlate to the downshifting of the tranny and not wheel speed or engine rpm. One click for each downshift. It did not sound out of the ordinary to me.

I was actually happy to hear the clicking because it meant we were not listening to the Disney radio channel 😄

I'll have to try again, but that's why I tested early this morning in silence. X2 on the Disney radio channel, lol.

hahahaha.. LOL.. thats so funny. My Daughter LOVES that.. Thats funny you said that, because when I first noticed it.. we were on the way home.. ( she was asleep in her car seat ) everything was dead silent. I have the top off too. The sound is not out of the ordinary.. its quite consistent sounds like a kick down on the transmission or a solenoid of some sort. It wont happen in first gear you'll have to go over 20MPH then come to a stop.. you'll hear it. probably nothing wrong.. I was just curious

I linked that video from Youtube but It's probably a Go Pro camera. I have a Go Pro and there are tons of mounts for it, would not be too tough. I'm no genius though lol.
