If possible 10 in sub that doesnt take up too much room
Cool grill inserts
Black dual exhaust or single that Y's out.

The first thing any Wrangler owner needs to do is rip out that sound system! I have Chrysler speaker part #77KICK10 in my roll bar and in front. I have had them over a year and they sound great even with the top off on the highway.

What are you looking for in a head unit? Touchscreen? Simplicity? 4 or 6 RCA's? Will you run an amp?

I have a 10" down-firing Pioneer sub I love which is powered by a Boss mono amp:

That sub sits perfectly behind the rear seat in my 2dr so you will have no problems putting it anywhere.

PS: There is no such thing as a cool grill insert

The sub box is great because you can stack stuff on top of it, and move it around freely. A hundred bucks you can't go wrong. Bass is very tight too.

Amazon.com: Pioneer TS-SWX251 10" Flat Subwoofer with Enclosure 800 Watts: Car Electronics

I cannot recommend a touch screen as I have a CX 501 by Clarion.

I am running an Alpine amp that I mounted in the glovebox that runs the 6.5"s.: Amazon.com: Alpine KTP-445U 4-channel Power Pack Amplifier: Car Electronics

Grill insert...
2007-2013 Jeep Wrangler JK - Sport Series Fromed Mesh Grille (Installs Behind Factory Grille) - BLACK Powdercoat [46481] : T-Rex Billet Grilles, Car and Truck Accessories

Another must in my opinion... search ebay
Wrangler JK Black Fuel Filler Door 82210609AB Mopar OEM 07-13 New Jeep 4 door. You'll need to paint the screws black if you going for the all black look.

Thanks I can't believe I forgot about the fuel filler door. Just got it and are there any cheap grills?

You won't find an after market replacement the same size if that's what you're thinking, all double DIN stereos will require you to cut or remove a metal brace inside the dashboard that exists to support the stock HU.

If you buy a 6.1" double DIN (which is a pretty standard size) you'll need a mounting kit which is essentially a pair of plastic brackets which screw to the HU and the inner dash mount. They serve the dual purpose of holding the unit in place and of filling the gaps at the side, like so:

There should be enough room to install a 7" head unit, but I haven't seen a bracket to mount it (because I haven't looked for one, not necessarily because one doesn't exist - I'm sure it must).

You might have to do some modification to the inner dash though. I don't know, I haven't fitted one.

Thanks a lot. I got that sub you recommended. It hits well and put my amp under the passenger seat. Sounds loud enough gives me the sound I want. Can't thank you enough

Awesome! Good to hear you are happy with it. It is a very tight sub, and the perfect size for a Jeep. I had 7 boxes from UPS stacked on it yesterday when I was moving stuff from the office - still sounded good and no damage!
