Noob Upgrades

Ok, I have searched throughout this forum and another popular one. I just bought a 12' JKU with a few optional factory upgrades. This is my first Wrangler and besides going bonkers on the lift, tires, wheels (which I plan to do - just not yet) I want a few simple upgrades. I primarily need advice on headlights/foglights and maybe some additional lighting. A lot of guys recommend Deltas but I want to make sure it's completely street legal and a big improvement. I have no desire to have blue colored lights or anything that looks "cool." I simply want a drastic improvement to the stock headlights and something easy, although I'm not opposed to wiring changes.

In addition, any advice on simple fender flare option. The stock ones are a little TOO much plastic for me. Any other quick or easy upgrades would be appreciated. I absolutely love the Jeep/ community that comes with it. Please to club me like a baby seal for posting such a common thread!

The Deltas are crap. The best bang for your buck is Rallylights. There are also LED versions available, but they're REALLY expensive ($250 and more for a single light).

Whip through the three threads below, to get a better idea of the Rallylights. Pay special attention to the posts by Hilldweller and Krutj, our resident lighting poobahs.

And here's a link to the site that sells the Rallylights. You'll need harnesses as well, I believe...that info's in the earlier links I sent you.

Thanks for the responses thus far! Very cool you guys aren't bashing my brains for such a common thread. Just a noob trying to get into the Jeep addiction. So far I've gotten a locking gas cap (probably just a placebo for me) Gorilla locking lugs, K&N air filter. My agenda right now is headlights, fenders, and maybe some interior additions before I go for the lift/tires/wheels. I plan on dropping some coin around the summer time on the big stuff so be prepared for another noob post!

As for the fender flares, there are a lot of options out there, from unpainted aluminum ($$) to the popular flat Bushwackers ($$). Lol...you'll find out shortly that all Jeep stuff is ($$).

I went with the Bushwacker flatties. Installation was hideously tedious. Think I spent around 7 hours, total, putting them on. Personally, I think they look great. Some probably don't agree.

Some fenders will look good painted; others probably oughta stay their original color.

You'll have to decide on what you like. Just like with bumpers...all pretty much subjective.
