Granted i have nav, but i like that.. "Plain" look in my jeep. These new jeeps just feel too comfortable, like if i was caught in the rain with the top off it be like i ruined my mercedes.

Dont mean to rant and sound like "its not a real jeep," i just dont like how wranglers are slowly and surely losing their ruggedness
It's not just that, the last Jeep I owned was in 1997, I paid eighteen grand for it fully loaded (at the time), that includes the cost to ship it overseas.

I went from a forty thousand dollar Tundra back to a Jeep (I've always had a thing for Jeeps) - that now costs forty three thousand dollars . . .I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the price/sticker shock.

I think there will be a point where I just won't give a damn about how pretty it looks, just not this week (I bought it on Friday).

Actually, I didn't get Nav because it was almost $1100 more for that option and my so called "smart" phone does it for free.

The nice features about Jeep with four doors is how I was able to sell it to my wife, otherwise I probably wouldn't have been able to get one.

Also, OP, mine is in the Dune color you mentioned. I love it.

MY '97 Jeep was a standard, which was great til I had to commute using the Palisades in New York - then it stopped being great.

Now I live in Northern California where the commuter traffic is on a whole new level, there's no way I was going to get a standard.

Yes I agree, the four doors helped sell it to my wife as well, otherwise I would still be driving a Tundra.

I'm still on the fence abut the color, the only JKU automatic at the dealership was Dune, and my wife liked it - it's not lie it's not going to get scratched up and beat to shit by the time I'm done with it anyways, so I figured I won't make a big deal about it.

I read the OP and replied to it, I probably should've read through all the bacon/brussel sprouts/mushroom posts prior to posting on it.

I actually think the new JK interior is more traditional than the plastic feel of the initial JK interior. While admittedly more comfortable, it better reflects the CJ spirit, while the first ones seemed to mimic the Liberty too much.
