I've heard exactly that with every new model since I started driving that 1942 Ford GPW WWII Jeep in my avatar in 1969... It'll be that way for ever...

Yes, very true, observed the same thing. The Jeep crowd has watered down big time. Lot of milfs, girls, are driving them and they don't wave......(or very rarely)...

....(at least if they would take the doors off to show some leg)

Yes, I get that people didn't always like the improvements, but my point is that it seems these last couple years' improvements have begun to erase the line that made Jeeps fringe vehicles and, as a result, special. Specifically, that they are now another SUV option along with every other SUV.

It can go potty out the sissy window in my sissy new Jeep.

IF they have thumbs I can buy him mittens.

Raccoons have their place, but not in my orchard and my organic garbage, and pulling down my fences, and, and...... ugh!

On a brighter note, this thread could have erupt into one of those ugly "my Jeep's a real Jeep and yours isn't" fight. Instead, it looks like nobody cares what anybody else thinks of their Jeep. That's a good thing...

The new Jeep design (and direction) is the BEST EVER. Bar none. Don't agree? It doesn't matter if you agree, or if I agree. What matters (to JEEP) is the 700,000+ people who bought wranglers in 2012 alone (best sales for JEEP in the history of JEEP by far). So, if the new "plush" jeeps don't fit your fancy...no worries, don't get one. Whatever makes more sales (and profit) will be designed by JEEP. Understand that "tradition" and "heritage" and "history" are MARKETING tools (very very effective ones, too). If the next study by JEEP shows that indy suspension will outsell solid axles on the new 2016 wrangler...say bye bye to solid axles. I absolutely LOVE my plush 2013 JKUR Commando Green Jeep...almost as much as mushrooms wrapped in bacon. That's why I was so taken aback when I recently learned (on this JEEP forum) that my JKU isn't EVEN a Jeep It's a "wagoneer".

what.

I dont really think anythings changed to be honest, if you want a more rugged wrangler then you have to build it up just like in the past. Jeeps are built not bought.

Bah! Thanks (I incorrectly put the total JEEP sales instead of wrangerls). I've already put in a request for a bacon wrapped stearing wheel and a built in foreman grill in the console for mushroom frying for the 16' Wrangler. We will see...

You can look at ANY product line, any brand, anything.. you'll will always find old-school mindsets that refuse to move with the improvements. It's normal and definitely common, even more when it involves polarizing things like the Wrangler. The companies that make these products tend to either 1.) Wait for the old-school minds to change or 2.) Lose the old-school buyer in favor of gaining a dozen new-school buyers.
