While I too am a 'Top Gear' fan, here's their inane commentary on JKU:

"It's boring". Plus the continue to labor under the illusion that calling it "a car" while making insipid comparisons to their abysmally limited perceptions of what Jeep actually IS....makes the rig somehow amenable to their flat lander criticisms....all from a country that celebrates driving on the wrong side of the road and heralding a wooden frame 'sports car' as something civilized gentlemen should covet.

In short, what they call 'verdict' is simply a summary of their own predujiced notions of wheeling about city tramways & concrete airfields. I note they often abandon their island kingdom to flee to some tropical hinterland, all the while bellyaching about the horrendous roads & hideous arrangement of knobs on their dash boards.

Frankly there isn't a "car" made that has served my own driving needs over the past 50 years anywhere nearly as well as my JK. And granted I've gone through phases of sports cars, hot rods, pick ups etc etc etc......so their flat footed assignment of 'verdict' to their 'Wrangler car' isn't surprising. If I had the taste for quarter million $ super cars perhaps I'd be jaded somewhat as well....<sniffing with a touch of hankie to nostril as only a certified gentleman could affect>

So you guys think I need to re-gear it? How much bigger tires can I run on the stock rims? What CAI should I run? Oh why don't any of the JKers wave back to me?!

3 out of 10....

Those effete Brits can put there opinion of the Jeep wherever Piers Morgan went!

Wasn't for the U.S. and the Jeep, they'd all be speaking German... and I wouldn't be able to understand their snotty comments on how we colonial poltroons should think....

Best part about it is their beloved land rover was originally a jeep with a stretched frame.

Ah, Top Gear... The best car show on TV. Well, the UK version anyways, the US version is... well... it is. But Top Gear always has an anti-American/Australian/anything that used to be British slant to it. It doesn't really do much to dispel the perception of snobby stuck up English stuck in past glory long gone by. They seem to remember 1800 pretty well, but not 1946. Go figure?

The ironic part is their Land Rover Defender review: rated 8/10

They pretty much slam it the whole article... and 8/10? The best part is the text right at the beginning telling you to buy a Pick up or Wrangler Unlimited instead!

best TV show of all time, the brit version that is. Strongly dislike all things brit normally but that show has it all. The US version is pure crap.

But I must have missed the one with this Jeep?!!!! Holy Crap! What's the story?
