NW Chicagoland off roading places?

Anyone know of any places to legally off road within 30 min. of Crystal Lake, IL?

I've heard there is a place nearby that isn't necessarily "permitted" but people have been doing it there for years, with broken down trucks stuck in the trail. Although, I'm not sure where it is...

Marseilles*, I'm not really sure how far The Cliffs Insane Terrain is from Crystal Lake, but it is definitely worth checking out. It's about 45 minutes from me and I think its a great place and really close compared to other off road parks

Hmmm... That looks like a nice muddy time! I will check it out, thank you. It is a 2 hour drive, so still looking for something closer if anyone knows of anything?...

The Cliffs insane terrain is awesome!! I'm personal friends with the owners (so I know it pretty well) and its a pretty awesome place! They have every level of trail, from ones stock wranglers can handle to steep hills rock crawlers will rave about. They are one of the cheaper places to wheel around the Midwest (I think it's $20 for a day pass?) and it is deffinantly worth it. The guy who runs and owns it, Corbyn, is super nice and will help with anything you need. I just was there last weekend for there 2nd Annual "Jeep Thing" event, and it was a huge success! So if your looking for a close place to wheel around Chicago, This is your best bet
