I am interested in the NX Glide but haven't found a lot of information about how to store the windows. I have heard they don't roll and aren't easy to store. Those of you that have the NX Glide, how do you store the windows on the jeep? Pictures are appreciated!!
I store my Glide windows in the back cargo area of my 4-door. I lay the two side windows down flat and then the back window lies down flat on top of the side windows. I did it this same way with my NX. I've had zero issues with storing my windows this way. I never was a fan of rolling/folding the windows due to damage.
If you have a 4-door you should have no problem with storage. If you have a 2-door you have a lot less space to play with and I hear that some 2-door users are not happy with their window storage options.
I have a 4 door but my dog rides in the back a lot. I was looking at the way @Bsears155 and @Shinny have rolled their back window up. Trying to decide whether to pull the trigger on the nx glide or not
I have a 2dr. I don't have a trektop but the factory soft top. I saw a good way to store the windows in a 2dr that works perfectly and is how I used to store them before I put my subwoofer in, I would imagine it works the same with the trektop glide because the top folds down in the back much like the oem (top must be down for this to work and need the back seat).
Take all your windows and put them on top of each other in landscape position (side and rear widows). When the top is folded down over the trunk, unlatch the backseat and push it forward just a couple inches. Now slide the bundle of windows (standing on end in landscape position) down between the folded soft top and the backseat. Then pull the backseat until it clicks back into position and it holds the windows snuggly in place. There, your windows are secured and won't fly out plus it takes up zero room. I do suggest that if at this point you need to pack the trunk, put a towel or something between your supplies and your windows because then they might get scratched. Otherwise, I've had no issues with scratches or any damage to the windows. Hope this helps 2dr owners looking for a good place to store their windows that doesn't require rolling/folding them and doesn't take up space.
'03 Rubicon, 5 small galvanized shackles(d-rings), set of 4 small master locks(same key for all), 1 bike cable approx 15 ft long. 1 cheap new SUV cargo floor mat(mine was $10, eBay). My rear seat departed B4 I got the Jeep.
1 shackle real tight(maybe locktite, not coming off without a tool and sweat) on each rear seat bracket. Last shackle on the rear seatbelt floor mount with the loop end of the cable into the shackle(it is permanently attached). Each of 4 locks to the 4 shackles at the rear seat brackets.
Tailgate bar lays on floors diagonally, then all 3 windows, followed by both upper front doors, with lower door bars facing opposite direction, one forward one rearward.
Then lace bike cable across to forward seat bracket and through lock(lock it down).
Free form the rest locking into all locks, make sure it results in "X" pattern, also laced through each upper door metal rod, finish with bike cable loop into last lock. Put cheap cargo mat over all, mine has a narrow end that covers the cargo net behind the front seats.
Now park almost anywhere, and when you come back a $1,000 worth on windows and doors will still be there
I wanted to "sneak" some info your way. We are in the midst of creating a storage bag for the Glide windows, I even got to test out the prototype today... and yes I made sure to test it on a 2-door!
Everything is looking great for the bag, we feel like it will fill the need for the window storage. I believe our engineers have some more testing and other behind the scenes stuff to do, I will try to squeeze an ETA out of one of our engineers this week!

That's some more good news from Bestop. For my 2-door, I have the hard top freedom panel bag. The side windows fit in there ok, but not great. It is tricky to get them in the bag. The rear window I just fold forward while connected to the tailgate bar. It almost fits this way, with a little bending. This works to fold the top down too, with the side windows stood up in front of the folded top and the rear window down behind it.
Subscribed. Hopefully this bag doesn't cost an arm and a leg. We've all been thru enough with this top. I'm one of the luckier ones. Mine hasn't leaked but the rest of the issues are still depressing
No update as of yet. I will continue to ask and keep you updated. I believe we are testing out the prototypes now to ensure they fit the need. *CassieAtBestop
Thanks Cassie. Did I read the instructions correctly, do you hang the bag from the front seats? What if you have a JKU with passengers in the back, will it interfere with their leg room?
The bag can hang from the front or rear seats. I will have the website corrected. Front seats would be 2-doors who removed their rear seats. In a JKU, i would hang form the rear seat or lay flat in the back.
Sorry about the delay, we had to pull one from stock and i just got it.
This is what it looks like standing up in a 2-door JK with the rear seat in. The bag has a slight curve to it but won't damage the windows in anyway. this bag is empty, so it sits better with product in it. Let me know if you want a 4-door JK. I can get that as well.
Hey Cassie
I am looking to buy a NX Glide, but before I do I also would like to know more about the storage bag. I have a 2-door. and I have a Tuffy trunk in it. Also I took my headrests off (I like the openness and visibility).
What are my options with this bag? And could you please show some photos of the bag and how the windows all lay in it? The ones on Bestop's website don't really show it well.
Thanks
Sine you have the Tuffy Trunk you would need to hang the bag on the back of your front two seats, otherwise it would need to lay on the floor.
I am getting once pulled from stock, it should be here early next week and i will get a shot with the windows in it, i know others have been asking. We are also redoing the pictures on our site to better show the bag and how it sits. *cassieAtBestop
Cassie, can we see photos of the bag with windows in it; how the windows set inside the bag etc. I have a 2 door, and with a Tuffy trunk in back, so I won't be able to hang the bag behind the back seat. I realize I could hang behind front seats, but want to see how the windows are positioned inside the bag.
Thanks
Placed my order for a twill Oak Tan NX Glide for a 2 door a few minutes ago through Quadratec. Got a quote from Rick on here last week and made the call this morning.
I've got some ideas on window storage if you run without a back seat like I do. I'll post it up if it works.
Congrats on your order! I am glad Rick got you taken care of, you will love the top.
If you take your rear seats out, you can hang the bag to the back of you driver and passenger seat. Would love to see your ideas, as I am sure other on this thread would as well! *CassieAtBestop
Now that I actually have the Glide and can take measurements and test fits I've come to the conclusion the Bestop glide storage bag is probably the best solution for glide window storage.
I can’t yet speak from personal experience but I ordered the storage bag at the same time I ordered my NX Glide from Quadratec and will gladly post when I have them (top coming the end of this week but bag is back ordered). By the way, Rob at Quadratec was great, I had a pretty good size order and he took good care of me.
