Howdy all. Been behind the wheel of my '12 JK Sport for just over a week now, so thought I'd post my reflections...
I like the visibility. It seems like there is much more 'window' to look through when I check around me for traffic or obstacles.
The turning circle is really nice and tight for a vehicle of that size. Makes for easy parking lot maneuvers unlike larger, standard SUV's.
The ride is quiet, smooth and comfortable (compared to Jeeps of old, not compared to a Lexus). I've become comfy very quickly, as this is my DD.
I wouldn't have normally requested bells n' whistles like XM radio or Bluetooth, but since were already in the Jeep that I got, I'm happy to have 'em. I never used in-car BT before, it's nice to hit a button and talk through the phone that's buried down in my pocket.
Haven't tried the A/C yet, but that heater is kickin'! It's TOO hot for me even before it gets to full-hot temp on the dial. I had to dial it back to the 2:00-position even at 31' outside this morning. Should be nice in the winter. And those vents are real good for putting the air anywhere
you want it, especially right on my hands on the wheel.
My ride is black-on-black, and I get compliments on it. I think it looks sharp. No offense to you Dozer and Arctic folks out there.
I like the support of the online community here, and the waves from other drivers are cool.
Not as Good
That 3.6L that felt so punchy when I was mashing the pedal during my test drives is not quite so racy now that it's my DD and I'm trying to NOT get 12 mpg avg. S'okay... it's probably time I slow it down some on the roads anyway.
Mods so far
Some little stuff - I wasted no time getting a Bestop denim tire cover because the stock one was a huge blatant ad for the dealership where I got my jeep. Put the Rugged Ridge Ultimate grab handles on so Wifey has something to hold onto while hoppin' in and out. And ordered a short antenna today from AntennaX.
I have my eyes on the ACE Engineering rock sliders, hope to have them on in the next month or so.
Then I'll calm down and go back to buying more crap for my motorcycle again.
