I installed the only "same diameter" 18" OEM rim tire my local shop could find.....Kelly Safari TRS or some such. While I was skeptical on the 10 ply ride, it really has proven to be much better than I anticipated. No lift/spacers/etc. Stock Jeep 18" OEMs work fine for me.
After 25000 miles on them, through ALL kinds of terrain & road conditions, they work very well, are quiet, and the soft-sprung Sahara (13/57 IIRC) is actually "perfect". The tires are within a couple .tenths of inch with OEM Duelers.
Absolutely no complaint on ride or traction or quietness....but I ~DID~ lose about 1.5 mpg overall average.....
Guess we can't have everything. Good luck.
