Off Road question

I took my jeep offroading for the first time, through clay/sand like soil. Anyway only issue I had was bottoming out and getting stuck when climbing, which I'm assuming a lift will solve?

Also my co worker lectured me about how off roading will destroy my jeep specifically my hub bearings, and that water crossing is the absolute worst thing you can do to a jeep. Any truth to this?

Thanks.

salt water yes.. Fresh water is fine as long as you keep it out of your air intake and some electrical compenents. Hub bearings and other parts will wear faster if you offroad your Jeep or even break.. but thats just the nature of the beast.. Clean your undercaridge after wheeling if you ventured into the muck. Other then that have fun.. Yes a lift and larger tires when combined will help you out with the bottoming out

If you bottom out on mud or clay or sand or dirt, nothing will happen other than scratches on your skid plates. If you hit rocks, you can dent your skid plates and if you miss the skid, it can break other parts. Just keep the breather tubes and air intake out of the water and you are fine. Jeeps are built for off roading. Bearings arent that expensive so don't worry If you have to replace bearings early(maybe 80,000 miles)

Bottom line, you got the most capable 4x4 in the world. It'll handle off roading easily and if it breaks, you just buy better parts and it's still cheap to change

Egg Harbor City,NJ is where I go. The one spot is like a huge quarry with a ton of hills to climb and a small pond.

Penelope Pitstop

twisky and crazy horse - sounds like you each need a new GF. You got a Jeep -- get a Penelope Pitstop or a Daisy Duke that will dig your ride.
