I thought I would give my impressions of the ORH top for my 2014 JKU. I have left a few comments on some of the various threads regarding the top, but wanted to give alittle more information.
I live in Canada and decided to buy the top because of its looks and favorable reviews on the forums, I was worried about getting the top in a timely manner since that seems to be it's biggest hangup and I wanted to order a top in early July which might be the busy season. I talked to Tim the owner of ORH and he said he could deliver the top in two weeks for a nice price. I agreed and the top came as promised. I had looked at a couple of video reviews on how to install and I am glad I did, the included instructions were hard to understand, but I did manage to install the top by myself fairly easily.
The top itself is of good quality and well thought out. You take the top off in pieces, you can have the front seats uncoverd or both front and back, or take it all off, it comes off very easy and goes on quickly after you have done it a time or two. It is easily transportable in the jeep although there is one piece with a bar in it that spans the width of the back of the jeep. I have driven on the highway in driving rain with no leaks and the wind noise is reasonable, not too loud at all. I have looked at the mopar top and like the ORH much better as it is removed all together when you go topless rather then all bunched up at the back and also looks less cluttered when you are just running with just the front seats exposed. It is a very slick solution. It is IMO the best looking top for the jku on the market. (I have the fastback version) I have used this top for 5-6 weeks and am very satisfied with its performance! :iamhappy:

Maybe one of these years they will make a 2 door version.

Just got my top and installed as well. I got the fastback but wanted to know if I have everything right. As far as where the back doors meet the side windows, does it seem to be a little sunk in instead of flush with the door? Mine seems sealed but wanted to know if anyone else has same look.

Im sure you wont be disappointed just thread lock the bolts and don't over tighten the header bar ,put everything on loose ahead of time to fit and stretch and then thread lock and tighten for real.
Also no kidding here make sure the top is warm when you first try to pull it over.
Also I found this a little confusing the back bolts for the roll bar go inside the cab and make sure you cut the hole large enough that you don't catch the material while tighten the short stainless steel bolt

Hudler, thanks for the review. I'm heavily weighing an Offroad Heroes fastback and looking for some help from other owners.

1. Looks like the front/back top panels are easily removable. How long does it take to put them on/off? I'm in Houston, Texas and thunderstorms crop up pretty quick.

2. I've seen the front rolled-up instead of removed. I don't like this look so much. Can you confirm the front panel is fully removable?

3. Does the rear window panel come out? Easily?

4. Are the rear side panels removable? Trying to figure out how close I can get to fully topless without much hassle. Would love to see some pictures!

Hey guys, I haven't looked at this thread in awhile, I will try to answer some of your questions. I have removed the top for the winter, u here in Saskatchewan it gets very cold and lots of snow so I put the hardtop on for the winter months. I miss my soft top!! It is easily removable for the winter and I expect I can re-install it in an hour or two in the spring.
Onto some questions

The back and front panel are easily removable in about 3 mins each. The front does roll up and sit tightly rolled at the top of the windshield, I thought I would not like the look of this, but I was wrong, My Willys jeep is Anvil and the top all rolled up at the front looks very cool. It would be removed, buy that would involve removing the header bar and too much work. It looks more then fine rolled up at the front.

The rear window panel is easily removed also, probably in 3 or 4 mins. Side panels are about the same. If I wanted to roll up the front and remove the rest I suspect it would take me less then 10 mins total. Quite easily done.

When I install the top in April (I hope) I will take some pics and show how ealily it goes on and off. The top seals nicely and I am very happy with the quality.

Thanks for the information. I'm going to give Tim a call today and discuss the latest version. I really don't want to roll the front section up, I want it to be easily removed and installed. If the only option to do that is by removing the header it may be a deal breaker for me.

I called and left a message today and Tim called me back within 30 minutes.

Tim explained on the current Fastback design that the front half of the bikini top does in fact still roll forward and attach to the front windshield area. He explained it rolled up very tight and tucked in around the sun visors area and was not very noticeable. Tim said in the past the header could be removed with knobs but that design did not hold the header down tight enough for his liking. He did state the header could still come off with by removing the bolts that hold it in, but most people prefer to just roll up the top and leave it there if needed for a sudden rainstorm. The photos on his website show the header/front bikini removed so I have no doubt this will be fairly easy to do and it's how I'll run my top most of the time.

Tim also stated the lead time would be 4-6 weeks as his orders have increased due to the January price drop. He also stated the prices are expected to go up some in February and the lead time would probably increase to 6-8 weeks as summer time demand goes up.

Tim was very pleasant to speak with on the phone and acknowledged he does not like to use email for communication; he told me to call at anytime with questions or updates on my order. I think I'll wait at least 4-5 weeks before I bother calling him back for an update.

Bottom line: I ordered the Fastback version and now I play the waiting game. Based on reviews from many others I feel confident I'll love this top. I'm sure the wait will be difficult but I'm looking forward to my new fastback OHR top! :drinks:

Thank you very much for the update. Although I'm in the Chicago area and won't have a use for it anytime soon, I think I'll go ahead and place my order for the fastback before price goes up and the queue in front of me gets bigger.
You're welcome! I could have used the top today...........78 degrees and beautiful!!! I just took the entire top off last night and left it in my garage. Unfortunately it's going back on tonight because it's going to get "cold" again but it was totally worth it for the drive today!

I still would like to see more photos of anyone that has the current ORH fastback top!

Just placed my order! I bribed him with a case of Labatts Blue to send mine before yours...kidding. Looking forward to comparing notes on the install and finished product.
If I have the patience I'm going to try and take a lot of detailed pictures of the install process. From what I've heard the directions are not the best. It will be interesting to see how long the delivery takes since we ordered at the same time.

Maybe I should call him back and offer up some good ole' Texas Shiner Bock!! :drinks:

Hey guys, I'm really on the fence with this top vesus the Trektop NX. I would like to just ditch my hard top all together and keep a solid soft top on year round. I have heard people can do that with the Trektop NX, but I'm not sure about this ORH. What do you guys think? Sadly, I don't have a garage where I currently live and we do get some Mid-Atlantic snow storms from time-to-time.

Got my top on today....40 degrees out and overcast, but it went on in less than 2 hours with the help of my son. Got all the parts and pieces on (the zippers would not touch at this point), cranked up the heater and let it sit for 30 minutes. Popped off the 2 side pieces, zipped them to the back, clipped them in and BOOM. Done, and it is not any noisier than the hard top. Great quality.

I can't wait for my ORH top to get here!!!!

In the meantime, I'm researching shade top options for the summer. I plan to run the configuration shown below for most of the summer (my kids don't like the top fully off and being totally exposed).

Has anyone installed the Spiderweb or Dirty Dog shades with the ORH Fastback top? Any issues or concerns?

I'm still waiting on my ORH Cargo top to arrive but I know a guy that has a ORH top and he keeps his Spider Shade on all the time and it doesn't interfere.
