Going 10k-15k miles with the right synthetic oil can be done without problem, but only if you have a oil filter than can run for that distance. And with the 3.6 Pentastar in the JK we do not really have any good options that I know of for high efficiency synthetic media oil filters. Also, the cartridge type filter certainly precludes using oversize oil filters.

Mine does this when I hit the reset, go over bridge/hill, and go weightless for a couple seconds. Really boosts the MPGs!

Easy answer? Change the filter every 5000 miles, top off the oil, drive on.

Wait, wait, wait...Amsoil went to a 10 billion mile interval? Dammit, I am still changing mine every 1.948e8 miles! Think of all the penguins I've murdered!

Oh, the humanity....or penguinity....whichever.

I don't know what Amsoil is but that is where these threads go usually and I am a conformist. I love these. Give me Amsoil or give me death!!!! Dammit!

SEARCH. That's the correct answer to OP question. There is only about a million threads on this subject. I have personally posted on exactly 476,442 of them.

I am also assuming that the OP can read. If searching is too much of a pain in the ass the manual can be a most excellent source of information. I suggest reading it from cover to cover. You would not believe the amount of stuff that you can find in there.

With todays oils, changing every 3k is pretty much a waste of money.

Had an old ford zx2 for a work car. Changed oil every 10-15k miles. It had 170k on it when I got rid of it, never burned a quart.

Both of m y 13's had there lights come on barely over 8k miles. Thats when they got changed.

Pick an interval you like and stay on that schedule.

Yes, Yes, Amsoil all the way...........engine, trans, transfer case, diffs, P/S and why not even try it as brake fluid and radiator coolant. THIS IS CALLED, ONE FITTS ALL.........
SOME CALL IT ONE STOP SHOPPING..........
Now for the change intervals, well with Amsoil, because it is for sure the best.............let's run it out for life time, plus it is so good that oil filters aren't needed, so we are saving some more money..............
WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT, AND VERSATILITY, WOW SECOND TO NONE.................

OD, of all of the oils available, and you chose Amsoil.
I think that your Alzhemiers is acting up, and just maybe you are more confused then ever!
I'm using Pennzoil Platinum, which is much better for all the applications, that you are allotting too!
You would be a much happier person, if you would just switch over to Coors light and Pennzoil Platinum, just at least think about it.

In the same exact boat! Changed it at 1,500 and 3,000, and now the "change oil" message came on at 7,500. Gonna change it at 8000 and then every 5k as well.

Been using Castrol Syntec/Edge & Wix filters so far (as well as all my previous vehicles), but I'm gonna fill up with Mobil 1 next time around just for curiosity sake. I don't expect to notice a difference but who knows!

it is a shame that mobil 1 does not meet Chrysler specs.

My Son-in-Law is using Mobile 1 in his new Chevrolet SUV and it is approved by GM.
I decided to use Pennzoil Platinum in my new Wrangler and so far so good!
I'm not saying that it is the best, but certainly good enough for my 3.6!

Seriously? This is just nuts. (Not you or what you said, but the whole concept that Chrysler wants to say that it doesn't meet specs.)

It's all about $$$. Mobil and Chrysler obviously didn't come to some agreement, but Mobil 1 is easily one of the best auto lubricants out there.

I used Mobil 1 in my 911 Turbo for years and years. I tracked that car frequently and had boosted turbos creating more heat than the Jeep ever will. If it's ok (certified and recommended actually) by Porsche, it's ok for a Jeep.

There are other oils as good, but for Chrysler to claim Mobil 1 isn't good enough' for their Jeeps, is just ridiculous.
