Oil Change Message - Say What?

On starting the engine I get the oil change message. I did my own oil change at 9000 miles. I'm currently at 10,650 miles so not sure why the message.
Checked the oil level and it's perfect. The oil is a nice golden color. Do I just ignore the message or does something need resetting?

Did you reset the message? Turn key to on position ( don't actually start it) press the gas pedal all the way down three times within ten seconds and then turn the key off. Now start engine

RTFM!! I succombed to me kneee jerk reaction to post it on the forum.

Actually it's easier to ask than to look it up. Haines answered it within 4 minutes. Thanks for that - worked like a charm. You're right though Muddy, just didn't think of it.

There is lots of other good stuff in there too. Make sure you completely read the 4WD operation and off road sections. It will save tons of aggravation later.

I thought it was turn the key to the on position 3 times quickly.
It reset, "something" on mine last night.

The seat belt alarm silencer "code" is on page 49 of the 2008 owners manual.

The following steps must occur within the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the on or start position. The manufacturer does not recomend deactivating the enhanced warning system. (BeltAlert)

1) Turn the ignition switch to the off position, and buckle the drivers seat belt

2) Turn the ignition key to the acc/run position (engine does not need to be running) and wait for the seat belt warning light to turn off

3) Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle unbuckle and then rebuckle the drivers seat belt at least 3 times within 10 seconds, ending with hte seat belt buckeled

4) Turn the ignition key to the off position. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming
