Oil change warning

How do you turn off the oil change warning on a 2011 jk without visiting the dealer

Get in your jeep, turn the key to on (dont start it) once all your warning lights come on slowly depress the gas pedal three times within ten seconds, the oil should be reset. Turn off your ign then start the engine to confirm.

Not to be too critical, but why don't they just have a freakin reset button option, like my previous GMs?

My daughter has a 09 Cobalt. You have to first turn the key on, then go to "personal" mode in the EVIC, then scroll to the oil message, then hit the reset button. Turning the key and pressing the gas pedal 3 times, is much faster and simpler IMO.

My GMC Sierra and H2 had serveral differtent menus that you could see and change from the steering wheel buttons (similar to my 2012 JKUR), including trip odometers, avg. mpgs, fuel used (for a given trip), the remaining range based on what's left in the fuel tank, and more including something like "Oil Usage" (or something like that --it would give you a percentage of the recommended usage you had used since your last oil change based on how you drove the car -- lots of high rpms makes it go down faster, driving like granny makes it last longer). Aside from how it calulated it (which is not my issue), you just held down on the button in that view, and it went to "100%." That menu was a lot like the menu on my Jeep, which has similar (though not as much) info, like the avg. mpgs, remaining range, outside temperature, etc ... The GM ones were just a bit better IMO. It's not a big deal, but they were better and more intuitive. For example, with the setup I had, I never saw any thread asking how to do it. You just pushed the dang reset button rather than turning the key a certain amount, and pumping the gas a certain number of times.

There's so much to figure out/retain in terms of operating all of the nearly-infinite gadgets on these vehicle, that it is, at least slightly, superior to have it all work intuitively IMO.

GM does it that way to make you go to the dealership when you can't figure it out, then they charge you $60 for an oil change and tell you that you need another $500 of preventive maintenance lol.

I hated being a service advisor for dealerships, everyone was always mad at me because the prices were rediculous, I sadly had no control over that.
