I've been looking at making my 12 look like the willy edition TJ from 04-06. Here is the decal set for them. Invasion star for hood, serial number for side of hood, fuel stencil and willys logo. The only problem is the serial number is MB41-06TJ. For you it should say. MB41-11JK. I was thinking about going to a sign shop to have them custom make a personal serial number sticker.

I checked out the Badges, Wings, and other Military Insignia and I think I found where you can actually make your own serial number, using the white stencil font. Now I'm not sure if it will turn out the way I think it should, but the price isn't bad. So I might give it a shot.

Do you know the significance of what all the numbers/letters mean (except for the 11JK at the end)? I was thinking about adding a few more numbers to make it a little longer. Also, I was thinking about adding a star to the hood, which they also have on the website.

Not sure what the MB is but the 41 has to be in reference to 1941 the date of the original Jeep.

The MB was the version produced by willys and ford for use in WWII. I want to own one of them someday.

I did the same to my '07 JKU. I bought the stars on line and had the lettering made locally.

I researched and found out how the numbers usually went had them made according to the 1941 military format:
  • USA = (Obvious)
  • W = War Department
  • 02 = Jeep or reconnaissance vehicle
  • 09015 = Last 5 of my VIN
  • S = Suppressed for radio operation
I believe there are vendors here that can do the lettering, or you can look on line or maybe someone locally like I did.

I did this on my hood sides. Stands for 2011 JK built September 2010. Threw the WWII star in just cause I wanted to. Now I'm thinking of replacing the star with a regular hyphen and doing a large WWII star on the hood. I also have the star on the passenger side quarter panel.

There is a green JK in my area with military decals on it.
The thing looks great.

Not going that direction personally, but it is a classic look and I always like seeing it.

I believe I am getting military decals on mine made up this weekend. US Navy theme. Looking at 3" anchors on cowl and USN 2010JK on hood with 12" star. My former ships name with 6" star above on fender USS CURTS FFG-38 with small US NAVY on rear fender above wheel

Roughly 3" but to be honest, I haven't measured them. When I had them made I told them I wanted them no longer than 3' (with the USA in line) and to keep the letters in proportion. I then cut the USA and put it on top.

Here is the web page I based my lettering on.
Here is the web page I'll use to pattern my "Bumper Numbers" for my marking next project.

I like that.

When people say they like my "Army" markings I tell them it's "Army Air Corps"

BEASTMASTER:: You're Jeep is a beast! That's exactly what I'm planning to do with mine, except put a single star on the hood instead of the doors.

There are stars on my hood and bumpers as well, I'll see if I can get some better pics.

Ordered a set of MB41-12JK and the vendor also said he could make me up a set of TP 35 and FUEL decals 1 1/2 inch. Everything shipped out today and will post pics, now just have to order the 12" Invasion star. Heads up to ebay member signpainterchris he was a great help.

I measured the Rubicon decals on my hood and they are about 1.125 - 1.25" and they can be seen from a distance so I think I will go with 2"

I plan to put a star on the hood. What would look better, 9" or 12"?

Beastmaster, what size is the star on your door?

Not sure about WW2 standards but the Army now uses 1/2" stencils for TP and fuel.
