Its very easy to do. Ya need jack stands and at least a floor jack to make it easy. Floor jacks are great for lifting one side of the axle while the other side droops and you can reset your spring. Undo the bottom sway bar link on both sides.

As an occupational educator, I think safety a lot. I've been thinking about this post. Is there any danger in this operation. Disconnecting the sway bar for instance. Is this done before jacking? Or if the jeep is up, having it up only on one side would tension this part and make it dangerous to disconnect? What are the particulars? Once the sway bar is disconnected, is that what allows the spring to be loosed as it is jacked up to the point where it can be removed/repositioned?

Jack front end up. Place jack stands under frame (not under axle) on both sides having both front tires off the ground. Remove front tires. Disconnect sway bar link (Axle will not fall). Lift up one side of axle while the other side drops. Reposition spring on side that is dropped.. Do same for other side. Reconnect sway bar. Pretty much that's how I did it on my old TJ. Should be same for JK(I hope).

Thanks golfspaz, I think that is enough information that he should be able to accomplish it now. I am also less apt to have difficulty when I do it. Seems pretty straight forward. Let us know how you make out mudbug.

I have a question for all of you OME folks...

So if i get the OME shocks and Coils for about 2.5 inches of lift, can I run with just that? I don't plan on doing any off roading right away but just want a little more height. If i'm not going to be flexin' on it hard do i need all of the extras right away? I plan to one day have the sway bars, trac bars, control arms... all that jazz. OME says you don't need the extras but i don't wanna break things or have a lot added wear either. Let let me know!

Thanks!

mudbug,

Have you had a chance to center the springs yet?

I somewhat have the same driving/wheeling pattern.. The shop I went to (all these kids have quite some off road experience) recommended me to go with the OME lift..Similar searches in all the known JK forums, gave me mostly the same answer..

So far I love my OME lift, good ride, etc.. I also have the adj. track bar, adj. front lower CA arms (you need to bring the caster back to original settings otherwise you have too much wandering)
I also got the OME Nitro shocks, a HD steering damper and last but not least a weld-on brace to anchor the rear track bar onto the Rear Axle..

Hope this helps...
