Smile On Dash Control of USB iPod

Where can I find specific directions for control of a USB connected iPod (media center 130 RES 2011 Unlimited Rubicon)? I've tried the DVD, owner's manual, internet search, etc. with no luck. I just want to know how to find & maneuver playlists, choose specific songs, setup random playback, etc. with the buttons on the radio or steering wheel. I know the "list" button provides menus for the iPod (playlist, artist, genre, etc. ), but finding a song seems almost impossible! I apologize if this has already been discussed & I failed to find this information on this forum. I'm a first time Jeep owner & feel that I'm pretty tech-savy, but I'm finding it more difficult than expected to find a song/playlist & just listen to it. Thanks if advance for your assistance!

It's all there, in that terrible, hard to navigate, DVD owner's manual. Look under "understanding your instrument panel." All the media info is in the second column of the sub-menu.

Basically, play with the numbered (1-6,) and 'seek' buttons while using the IPod. You'll soon figure it out.

Thanks Bill, I'll give it a look. Really seems like I need more guidance with voice command prompts as they apply to ipod playback. I like the convenience of saying "Play <insert song or artist>" and it plays, but he problem is my ipod has a lot of songs & playlists & I don't always remember the song/playlist names perfectly. I'm accustomed to using the ipod via USB in my GMC pickup where I can use steering wheel buttons to manipulate playlists to find songs in certain playlists.

My Jeep: Jeep Owners Service Manuals

Edit: Forget the above. I just when through the voice command section.... worthless for USB/IPod.....

you can also press the VR button and say "tutorial" and Uconnect will go thru the VR commands.

see if this helps.
1- Press the list key.
2- With the tune Knob scroll and select playlist (at this point the name of your IPod will show).
3- Press the tune knob.
4- With the tune knob scroll and select the playlist you wish to play.
5-Press the tune knob once more (your playlist should be playing)

here's a couple more things that may be helpful:

Shuffle OFF modes for the iPod_. If the RND icon is
showing on the radio display, then the shuffle mode is
ON.
List Or Browse Mode
During Play mode, pressing any of the buttons described
below, will bring up List mode. List mode enables
scrolling through the list of menus and tracks on the
iPod_.
TUNE control knob: The TUNE control knob functions
in a similar manner as the scroll wheel on the iPod_.
Turning it clockwise (forward) and counterclockwise
(backward) scrolls through the lists, displaying
the track detail on the radio display. Once the track
to be played is highlighted on the radio display,
press the TUNE control knob to select and start
playing the track. Turning the TUNE control knob
fast will scroll through the list faster. During fast
scroll, a slight delay in updating the information on
the radio display may be noticed.
During all List modes, the iPod_ displays all lists in
“wrap-around” mode. So if the track is at the
bottom of the list, just turn the wheel backwards
(counter-clockwise) to get to the track faster.
In List mode, the radio PRESET buttons are used as
shortcuts to the following lists on the iPod_.
Preset 1 – Playlists
Preset 2 – Artists
Preset 3 – Albums
Preset 4 – Genres
Preset 5 – Audiobooks
Preset 6 – Podcasts
