On the Road (UPDATE)

OK, I spend a few days in NorNv and now I'm back in NorCal--till the Dec 17-then back to NorNv--

My 1600 miles from NorCal to LA/Las Vegas and back to NorNv, in my little Toyota Matrix netted an average of 1600 miles/34 mpg-

This morning I decided to put some hiwy miles on my JKUR with the fairly new regear-

I just drove 224 miles to SF Bay area and with my 5.38 gears and adj LCAs, the Rubi was a pleasure to drive at 65 mph and avg was 15.25 mpg (224) miles--cruise control using O/D 90% of the trip-and thats from 4200 ft altitude to 7000 ft (Donner) to sea level NorCal

Last winter I did the same trip with my JKUR and 4.10 gears and also averages 15.2 mpg

As a footnote-last friday (Dec 9), I had my JKUR (stripped) weighed at a NorNv truckstop (Certified Scales) and it weighed--are you ready for this ??

------------------------------4995 lbs----------------------------------

So my addition of (10 skid plates), full roll cage, suspension mods, lighting and the hardtop roof rack added the additional weight-so when I add me/wife recovery gear/tools/camping gear---she pushes close to 6000 lbs-

Ain't jeepin fun ?????

....so are you calculating 'ton/mile' or 'mpg'???

My Ram 4x4 2500 weighs barely over that 6000 if I take out the extra gear.

and what's this Matrix business ? Next we'll be hearing about your electro Tesla sportster....

lol...There are small delivery trucks that don't weigh that much.

Enjoy your travels.

I'm jealous...about the trip, not the weight

Enjoy and safe travels!!
