One Month, 1000 Miles - Some Thoughts and Pics

Have the Jeep for about a month. I just crossed the 1000 Mile mark today. I documented it by taking a pic and thought may be I should post some updated pics of my rig. I am going in for Shoulder Surgery tomorrow (Rotator Cuff) and I will not be able to do any mods for about 3 months or may be more. It's going to be hard to stay away from doing mods but I have to get my shoulder fixed. I want to thank all the folks over here in steering me in the right direction for all my mods so far.

My rig is completely debadged. Well, almost completely. All my mods so far have been cosmetic in nature. The ones that I will plan for next year are Lights, Lift and Bumpers.

As of now, the mods I have done so far are:

1. Tires/Wheels
2. Fuel Filler Door
3. Debadged/Destickered
4. Shorty Antenna
5. Mesh Grill Insert (Home Depot DYI)
6. Tuffy Security Products (Hood, Glove Box, Console, Cubby Cover, Underseat Drawer)
7. Clear Turn Signals and Clear Markers
8. Corner Marker Mod (Blink with the Turn Signals)
9. Door Sill Guards

Was planning to do the skids but haven't yet received them. I guess I will have to do them after my shoulder has recovered.

Anyways, I love this Jeep and it is just so friggin awesome. In the last month I have had it, that's the only thing I have driven. I still own my other car which is a 05 BMW 330I and I haven't found the need or desire to drive that car which speaks a lot for me since I have always owned sports sedans but I can't tell you how much I love driving my Jeep.

Another great thing is spending the time on the Jeep doing the mods. Gives you a sense of ownership that it's special and it's the only one of it's kind.

Enough talk, here are some pics.

I decided to put the trail rated badge on the tailgate. I like it over here.

I'd say good luck with your surgery, but it's so common now-a-days that the surgeons have it down to a fine science, so you'll be good.... after that long rehab it requires!

Then, get back under that pretty Jeep, friend!

Wow man...what a difference. I remember when your rig was just a mere canvas, awaiting paint.

As UHB said, they got it down to a science now. Rotator cuff is debilitating for a little while, but no big deal. Your Jeep will wait patiently, perhaps with a little anxiety, but faithful nonetheless.

First day the shoulder's good, she's gonna wanna go rip up some trails.

Looking real good Sunny. I like the relocation of the badge, though I would plasti-dip it if I were you.

BTW: I forgot to mention, I also installed the Winch in my garage to lift the hard top as this is something that I would probably have a real hard time with, after recovering from my shoulder surgery

Yes, I remember.

I think, it's good to take a break. Have spent a lot in the last month on mods.

I wish you well with the surgery. Once your shoulder heals up you will be throwing 95 mph fastballs again.

I see many folks photo-shopping their license plates when they post pics of their rig to not disclose the license plate #. Not sure why they do it (May be for security). I thought I did do the same.

Thanks Guys.

I have had surgeries in the past but they always make me a bit nervous.

I will be up until midnight, which is one I will have something to eat after which I will need to fast. Surgery is at around 12:00 tomorrow noon.

Good luck with surgery. Jeep looks great and very similar to my setup so far. How do you like the duratracs on the road?

Edit: I just noticed that is black forest green, looks so much like black when its not in the sun.

Saw it off adhesive with dental floss. Remove residue with goo-gone or naphtha.

I got the winch from Harbor Freight. 880 LB. You don't need that much. 440LB would work but they didn't have that in stock and I had to get this done this weekend. All I have done so far is install the winch. I still need to make the frame that will go on the top of the Jeep Top.

Check out my Jeep profile on wheel and tire details. Wheels are Level 8 Trackers from DTD

On a really hot day, you can use your fingers and pull it right off. After that, use some Googone to clean up the adhesive. Or use a hairdryer to heat up the area first and then pull it off.

EDIT: Looks like Up Hill Bill beat me to it but you get the idea.

Love the duratracs but I can't give you a comparison. I got them installed when I bought the jeep so I do not know how the stock tires feel and that's fine because I am probably never going back to stock.

Yes, it does look black in the dark.

Not my idea. Saw it done by forumers over here and the other two forums that I visit once in a while. I think it's the best option to get the roof out of the way.

That is a great place for the Trail Rated badge.
I'm totally stealing that idea, I'll tell you right now.

I'm also among the group that has watched to transform your Jeep into YOUR Jeep.
Well done sir!
(Hopefully I'll transform mine a little more this spring!)

Use the time to plan your next moves perhaps?
Hope you feel better soon!

I am also one of the "stalkers" that have been following your posts!
Love the way that Jeep looks!

You all will be seeing eerily similar posts by myself very soon!
My BFG Sport S w/hardtop will be here this week!
And my first mod will be the Level 8 Trackers(15") with 33" Duratracs!
(the credit card is gettin' real warm in the pocket!)

Best wishes on the surgery and recovery bro!

Looks good, especially those clear markers/signals. Didn't realize they made those for the Jeep. I'm curious what method you used/where you got the hardware to do the side marker mod that makes them blink. I've read a few of them but not really sure which is the best.
