FYI for those who may not know, but on at least the 2017 MY (I have a JUKR Hard Rock) from the factory the vehicle comes with one touch signaling how BMW, MINI, etc have employed for years.
You cannot adjust the amount of indications, however, it's there as a 1-touch alternative to pushing down the stalk completely.
Curious to see if previous model years have this feature.
The '15 JKW has it. I had to turn it on in the menu to use it. However I bought it used, so the previous owner might have turned it off. I do wish it had 5 blinks instead of just 3 because I don't change lanes that fast.
Has auto start, too. It's like push button start, just turn your key all the way to start and let it go. Engine will crank and run on it's own, no need to hold the key to the right.
I knew about the touch turn signal feature, but didn't know about the auto-start; very nice. My BMW has the one touch turn signal feature, and I was surprised when I found the Jeep has it too.
I'm very impressed with the number of features that are standard on the JK. Mine was a stripper (the ONLY option listed on the window sticker was air conditioning). Yet it has cruise control, digital compass and outside temperature, trip computer, anti-sway technology, eight speaker stereo system, hill-hold braking (prevents it from rolling backward when letting out the clutch on an incline), 4 wheel disk brakes with ABS, etc.
The 3-blink feature doesn't prevent you from controlling them manually.
Well, I guess if you only wanted one blink. Are you trying to wink at other Jeeps?
My 2015 JKUR has it, but three blinks and a squirt and it's all over. My 2015 Hyundai Sonata also has it, but you can set it for 3, 5 or 7 blinks. I have it set for 5 blinks, which allows for a normal lane change. My 2016 Silverado also has it, but like the Jeep, it's 3 blinks and you can't change it.
No. I sent Chrysler feedback on this back in 2008 when I received an email, asking how I liked my then new car. I see they have not changed it in the new models since then.
3 blinks is standard. At least in every car I've had that has this feature.
It's just meant for a quick lane change. Hold it like you normally would if you need more.
Once you've begun the lane change and are partway into the other lane, there's no need to continue blinking.
The people around you are lucky you blinked at all.
Seriously? Up till this spring I rented like 40 cars a year and everything I ever drove except for a few Hyundais and Kias all did 3 blinks (or nothing at all). It's plenty for a lane change at speed which is what it is. For anything else, just click the damn lever like everyone did since cars had turn signals.
My 14 JKU has it, my 07 GC had it and my 08 Chevrolet RV has it. Nothing new except the RV has 6 blinks.
