One year and 14,000 miles later .....

Hi All ...
One year ago this Saturday I got my first Jeep, a 2013 White Sahara JKU and it now has 14,000 miles on it. It has been our daily driver and my Wife loves it more than her 2005 Chevy Z71 4wd Avalanche and I think she has taken
it over ... LOL .....
It did not help that I have been fighting Testicular and Lymph Node Cancer since December 2012 and she has had to drive me to the hospital all the time. Also she made daily trips when I was hospitalized 4 different times with 3 being one week stays and the last being 16 days. I have been able to drive it since June 30th and realized how much I missed driving it.
It worked great all Winter up here in the Northeast and I do not really plan on any really serious off roading with it, just maybe some dirt type roads that dot the NH landscape. Also got it for driving around all Summer with the top down since we ride motorcycles also and it some what gives the same feeling. Have had no major problems with it and had the Dealer do the 10k oil and check up.
Rob .....

I just hit 14,000 miles after 9 months because of long drives to visit my folks due to illness they are experiencing. Hospitals are no fun at all. Stay well and enjoy many more with your jeep!

Hope you are doing much better! I just turned 16,800 in my 2012 that I got last June. I drive roughly 100 miles each day round trip to work. Love it!

Did chemo first which after the 3rd cycle I was hospitalized for a week cus it almost killed me. Then 3 weeks later on April 1st I had my 1st surgery where they removed my left testicle and they said all cancer in that area was either dead or gone. Then on May 1st they went after the Lymph Node near my kidney and it was 12 hours long. Again they said all cancer in that area was either dead or gone and they took out a bunch of other Lymph Nodes in that area just incase. I was in the hospital for 16 days after that nasty surgery and have a 11" scar down the middle of my chest. I am still out of work on long term disability ( since Feb ) recouperating from that surgery but hope to be back at work by 2nd week in Sept. I had Stage 3B Cancer and here is a link showing what they did on the last surgery ...,

Robscully,

Hang in there. I had my testicular cancer 40 years ago and I have been free of that CA ever since. I had cobalt radiation for months following and the treaments today are much better.

I am just celebrating my 9th year since my heart transplant and I just hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back out the same day this last April so I am very lucky.

So....life can get back to normal. Good luck and one day at a time. BTW, my wife has her own Jeep so I am safe that way.
