Opinion poll: Painting my Rock Rails Flat silver on a BLACK Jeep?? Yes or No

I just got my SLIGHTLY used Mopar Rock Rails. They are in GREAT shape, but have a few "scuffs" on them,so I will be painting them.Since The vehicle is black,as most of the other components (fenders, hardtop, mirrors,ECT)I thought about doint the rails in silver,or MAYBE in a silver/black two tone paint scheme????

I like the black rails on all of your guys "Jeeps of color" (Dozer,Crush,Cosmos,Gecko, ect) But they kind of get lost on a black Jeep,I think.

Anyone paint theirs differently? Who votes for silver,silver/black 2 tone,or just redo them black ??

You're right the black rails on a black Jeep do get lost. I have no idea how the Silver would look???? But there's only one way to find out. Give them a shot of Silver and if all else fails, nothing a little primer and black paint won't fix. If you do paint them silver, post up some pics. I'm interested to see how they look.

BTW,your black rails look good,I just was thinking of making them look more "pronounced". I think I might try it silver. My rails are more used as a "kick guard" getting in or out of the vehicle.I wont be rock crawling! lol

Not sure rails are something you want to "pronounce" or accentuate. Or at least not the first thing if everything else is black. Although if you have the stock painted Al wheels that look silver, could try to match that and it might look good.

It could work, but I think you might need some more silver. Just the rails may not be enough, but if you added the bumper inserts from a Sahara, you could make a nice black/silver theme.

Here are a few quick mock-ups to visualize.

I would go black aswell. If there's nothing else on the jeep that's silver it might stand out a little awkward looking.

I have them on my black jku sport. They might not stand out, but the jeep definitely looks better with them than without them. I think silver would look pretty tacky, but hey - opinions are like elbows, right?
