Orange light delete?

I have searched and been unable to find an answer.

Is there a way to have your headlights and/or fog lights on without having the orange sidemarkers and front signals on. I still want the turn signals to blink of course, just not on with fogs or headlights.

I ordered black lenses with orange bulbs for both.

unless you go in and rewire yourself I think what you are asking isnt posssible, as far as the sidemarker lights, I dont think there is any legal issue with you just unpluging them so that they dont turn on at all.

With my cadillac CTS the front orange lights were the DRL also. I clipped one wire and from that point on they only worked as turn signals.

So I did the Mod today to hook my sidemarkers to the front turn signals. So now those come on as turn signals. They also come on with the headlights or fogs. I want them as turn signals. I just want them off with the head lights. Anyone know what this middle wire is for?

Wouldn't this make your vehicle not street legal?

absent running a completely new circuit with an old time style flasher and toggle switch setup, no.

Just curious, why would you want it that way?

It worked. I did the sidemarker mod earlier today. So now.

1. Lights off turn signal on - front turn signal and fender marker blink.

2. Fog lights on- fog light and fender marker are on but not front marker. Fronts blink when signal put on as well as fender.

3. Headlights and fogs on - head lights fogs and fender marker turn on but not front marker. Fronts and signal blink when turn signal engaged.

Only thing I did was clip the middle wire. I think legally I am still fine with the fender markers coming on

USDOT requires them and thus, if removed or deactivated, they can be a citable offense in some States.

If a police officer does not see a signaled lane change or turn, you can receive a citation.

Why would you do this? Plenty of times seeing the other vehicles side markers kept me from an accident. Also if you pull a trailer you need those side markers to light on the trailer so people know it's back there.

Lol. Sidemarkers prevented an accident highly doubtful. But read closely and I will post a pic in a few. My fender lights still turn on with fogs or headlights and they act as turn signals now. So actually more indication to other drivers.

I think that's ludicrous but to each their own I guess.

The simplest mod would have been to remove the fog bulbs instead of cutting anything.

Pics with fogs and headlights

Fogs only

Note the fender lights are still on but not the front orange. Both the fender and front do work as turn signals.
