I ordered back in Feb 2012 and got my Jeep about 9 weeks later in April 2012. The process was great up until I went to pick up my Jeep. It was supposed to be a half door JKU and ended up having full doors with manual windows and locks. The rest of the order was correct.

Turned out the dealer had made an error inputting my order in their system with Chrysler. Since it was a no cost option it was missed. In the end I took the Jeep but got a free hard top and the wiring for it done. I had gotten an excellent deal to begin with so no doubt it cost them for their mistake in the end.

It worked out because as cool as half doors would have been, I had second thoughts about Canadian winters with those plastic side windows. Dont think I would want to live without the hard top for the winter months now.

There is probably more to this that no one including the OP will ever know. I used to be a new car sales mgr so I have some background. I am envisioning two scenarios

1. The dealer screwed the order up as has been suggested and told him the order had to be canceled due to lack of paint BS.

2. The dealer sold an ordered vehicle and didn't have allocation to actually place the order. Every dealer is given a certain number of vehicles that they can inventory/custom order. If they were out of allocation because 2013 production was ending they simply couldn't place the order regardless of color. If they knew this going in or even waited a while to tell him my bet is that they figured they could find a True Blue that matched his specs at another dealer and simply do a dealer swap. The OP wouldn't know it wasn't "his" vehicle so they still make the sale. When they couldn't find one they again used the paint BS.

Just my $.02 and hope it works out some way.

OP: Just go back to your dealer and ask him to explain to you why you should order another one through him, instead of someone else.

It sounds like a dealer issue and the order never got placed. I placed my order back at the beginning of April true blue was my first choice and was told at that time it was unavailable and the system wasn't even offering it as a choice at that time which is about 11 weeks ago.
