Toyota is subsidised by the japanese govt and every dime goes back to japan. Since they are foreign no union workers or competitve wages so they also get away with paying significantly lower wages. So, I could care less how domestic built they are. They are still foreign backed and built here at a detriment to our true domestic auto makers

Good for them. They don't have unions and are putting people to work. That's more than we can say for Chrysler or GM. I own a Jeep, but still hate Chrysler. What a pathetic organization.

Look to Detroit for what GM and Chrysler have brought home.

I'd still take a JK over a Tundra just based on product, but as for companies, Toyota blows pathetic Chrysler away.

I traded in my 2011 4X4 F150 Platinum SCREW 6.2L for my 2013 JKU RUBI. Yes, I miss the power and some of the luxuries. But the fun and attention I have in my JKU RUBI is worth it. Not to mention the money I save in gas and payments.

My buddy has a 4dr Tundra 4X4 and every time I got into It I thought how cheap the interior felt compared to my F150 as well as my JKU.

I just did the opposite, traded a 2011 Tundra for a 2013 JK. The Tundra was having rust problems in the bed, watch out if in the snow belt. The rust migrates from the bottom so adding a bed liner will only cover up the problem. Good luck.

Tundras are nice rigs. I am a Ford truck person myself have owned many since my 1st in 1977 a new 78 F150 4x4. I would have no qualms about getting a new Tundra tho. Funny thing is my dad who is 86 saw a one the other day when we were together and he said wow who makes that big truck. I told him it was a Toyota and he could not believe how big it looked. He drove GMC pickups for years.

I ran mine at the Cedar Falls Raceway during a test and tune session for $hits and giggles. I have the Volant CAI and true dual exhaust. I ran 15.15@ 93mph in the 1/4 in a 7500lb 4x4.

Tundra's are built in San Antonio, TX. They are badass trucks for sure. My step-dad owns one. I just sold my Toyota FJ cruiser with 160,000 trouble free miles and it still drove better/rode better/more power/etc. than my brand new 2013 JKU. I really love Jeeps, but let's be honest. Chrysler's quality sucks!! Toyota is 100x better in quality. I've had this thing a month now, and the drivers side keyhole is falling ever....never even used the damn thing yet since I have a remote. Also, the suspension is "creaking" when backing up with the brakes slightly one.....LOL. Doesn't matter, I've got a RK 2.5" flex systems in the garage ready to install.

How about businesses that own bratwurst or spaghetti? Your JK is either German or Italian depending on the year. Either way, the JK is built in America by a foreign owned company, just like the Tundra. The ignorance here is astounding.

You are soooo right!! Hey, I love this country as much as the next guy (maybe more)...but the whole "BUY AMERICAN" is such a funny, ignorant, blind, and extremely hypocritical statement. The computer (or mobile) device that was used to write "buy American" is not American, the device you are reading this very post on is not American, your Jeep sure as sh*t aint American...and so on and so forth. And, it's not about Price (a common argument that "they" can do it cheaper over in that 'crap' part of the world). I'd be HAPPY to pay HIGHER prices for just about anything made in America. Problem is...even at a higher price...most American products are just sub-par quality when compared to others. The things that built this country and made it the best, quickly....are quickly fading away. Those 'crap' parts of the world are kicking our a$$ in virtually every relevant way (technology, per capita income, employment, etc). If we stopped with the blind 'patriotism' and actually opened our eyes to what's going on...we could become #1 again. Sad. Anyway I just ordered 35s from DTD!!!! No idea where they were made but I'm f**kin' giddy

Is it just me or are the Toys trying to look like a Ram ? And yea nice truck OP but its only the big 3 for me . I dont care if they are German or Italian owned, a large part or most of the revenue is staying here through good wages. The big 3s parts suppliers pay better wages than the Asian assembly plants pay their workers. The asian companies are bleeding this country dry little by little. They pay shit wages and their suppliers pay even less and most of the revenue stream goes back to asia.

Ohio is littered with shit hole parts plants making parts for Honda and Toyota ,Hyundai .Everyone of them pay just enough to get the bottom feeders in the door and using your tax money to substitute their wages and medical needs. They are in the same boat as Walmart leaching off the tax payers through the welfare system. In the end you are paying the same amount.

So yea you can buy Asian and send your money back to asia while your tax money subsidizes their employees . Or you can buy big 3 and know that their are that many more Americans out there that can pay their own way.In the end your going to pay the same for what you are buying, just one way is sending this country down the shitter.

It's your money, it's your call....

But, 2-door Tundra is only available in 2-wheel drive, right? The whole TRD Off Road schtick is just very expensive 17" alloy wheels, a rear sway bar mod and some stickers, IIRC.

Will that be better to run a snow plow than a JK? I doubt it, but it's not my decision to make.....

.
I agree with your statement on Asian Countries. I also like to support American made products as a whole and have never owned a Foreign made Vehicle and do not plan on owning one in the future! Forget about where they are assembled, but rather where they are based out of, "Headquarters".

Is it not also possible, that what is adding to the bleeding of our Country dry, is our Unions continuing to demand higher wages and benefits. If you remember correctly, when the Auto Industry was close to shutting down, it came out that the average auto assembler was making with benefits, approx. $77.00 per hour. Remember, not everybody can afford to continue to pay these high prices for American based Auto Companies. So what drives up our Industry costs, the high wages. So what is the alternative, buy Foreign!
