Cool "Outback Security"

Another entry into our gizmo-rich environment:

Details at NRAStore.com - Product Detail

I like the idea. Pricey at $69.95, but seems pretty secure....for a few cubic inches.....

Man, that means anyone could walk up and take it off. It's gone!

That's a big problem in my area, people steal the hitches off vehicles everywhere.

So, you put something valuable in there, someone takes the hitch thinking "got me a normal hitch". Get it home, find it's a safe. well, now they got all the time in the world to spend drilling, cutting, whatever, on it to get what's inside.

Cool

PT: I think you're missing an essential part of the design concept there.......although perhaps I missing something on the pin there....I'm going to investigate further.

Jimbox: I don't think that will fit the 2" channel...

.... does it ride well there on the shade flap without intruding into casual social activities?

My Rockhard "cage" pushs hard enough against the S & W 1911, to keep the visor in the "UP" position, it would be near impossible with a stock setup !!

Is that a "Jimbo Designs" custom rig, or can it be purchased somewhere?

The holster/straps are part of tactical belt/thigh 1911/mags/survival kit, that I've had for years and I just took the holster/straps outofit and modified them for the sunvisor--

Like I said, the HARDROCK roll cage supports the S&W, so I have to "TUG" it down, if you tried to hold a couple pounds of pistol on your visor without the cage--you'd have to come up with a seperate support sys--it'd be to heavy for the visor clip !!

You could spend $700 bucks for the cage--just to support a pistol

There aren't that many spots to stash a loaded pistol in the JK/JKU for QUICK ACCESS and this was my choice !!

Cheaperthandirt and LA POLICE SUPPLY carry similar accessories and you don't have to be an active military/police officer to obtain them, I didn't get my equipment in California, but they're getting tougher to get this kinda stuff !!

Good luck

It's designed for surfers, my wife being one. If the hitch pin isn't locking, just change that out. They use it to lock the vehicle, then lock their keys into it to get back into the vehicle after surf dies down.

Thanks for the info Jimbo; I got a couple ideas for securing the visor up without buying the cage, just trying to figure out which one is the least likely to open up at the wrong time...

You've gotta consider legality and danger from "others"-otherwise you may want to keep it in a Tuff/Bestop lock box-

You don't want to make it an "ordeal" to unfasten your visor, if thats where you choose to keepit !!

For me it's a no Brainer-my jeep stays in Nevada and all my children are "GONE"

Good luck
