Owners Manual - My brand new jeep did not come with one

I just bought a brand spanking new 2014 Jku Sahara and it did not come with a Owners Manual. it came with a user guide and service guide but not the 600+ page owners manual. Should I have received one, I know its available on Jeep.com as pdf and you can call and order one but should I have to pay for it, I just spent 40k on it you would think I would get one. Is this common? How do I get one free of charge?

No, it does not come with one.

I just downloaded one to my computer at home and to my computer at work.

I don't recall the phone number, but there is a thread on here somewhere with a number you can call to have Jeep send you a physical copy. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure the full manual is on the CD that came with the Jeep. I downloaded a soft copy onto my phone.

As long as you bought your jeep new, they will send you a free manual when you call in.

If you call Jeep, they will ship one Owners manual and some other book to you free if you are either the original owner or it is the first request for the book. I have a JKUR 13 and got mine in the mail after requesting it.

No need to own or even read the owners manual. The forum is here to answer your every question. Questions like "when should I change the oil", "what oil should I use", "how do I put my top up/down", and others will gladly be answered for you simply for the asking

Yes...that seems to be a very popular trend.

I'm always amazed at how often the owners manual becomes the last resort instead of the first resort.

I have 4 different versions on my work computer alone.....and I had downloaded and read the 2012 owners manaul long I got around to actually ordering my 2013.

As a matter of fact, I just looked on my work computer (I also have versions at home).

I have the 6th version of the 2011 OM. (Gotta have knowledge about the 3.8 and the 42RLE)
I have the 3rd and 4th versions of the 2012 OM.
I have the 2nd version of the 2013 OM.

I downloaded the 2012 OM on 9/30/2011...I didn't order my Wrangler until roughly 10/5/2012....but I had already read the manual from cover to cover a year before I purchased.

Lots of good info in there....

There's a phone number in fine print on the User Guide that came with your Jeep. Call that number and you will receive your printed 2014 owner's manual within a week - assuming its ready for publication.

That's he way it works now in our paperless society...

When you go online the first time why not just save the PDF version to your computer and then it will always be there.

We called the Jeep number and they sent us a hard copy of the 2013 owner's manual and a booklet about the uConnect. I keep a PDF copy of it on my computer for the times when someone on the forum asks a question that I'm pretty sure can be found in the manual. I look it up, paste the answer from the manual into a reply and include the page number it can be found on.

Negative. That's the User's Guide. The same .pdf that is available for download is on the DVD. You need to use a computer to read it.

Again ... flip the dvd case over and read the "Important" section at the bottom of the case. If you're the first registered retail owner, Jeep will send you printed versions of the manuals at zero cost - just call the follow numbers:

1-877-426-5337 (US)
1-800-387-1143 (Canada)

The phone numbers are listed on the reverse side of your DVD package.

Read the fine print!
