PA system install questions

First I would like to say hello to everybody on the forum! I am a new Jeep owner and couldnt be happier!

I just purchased a 2010 Sahara Unlimited (Surf blue) a month ago and have been customizing it since. So far I have painted the stock 18" wheels black after reading some threads on "how-to" and painted the brake calipers with a hi-temp paint that is almost a perfect match to the surf blue. Surprising that I found one to match, but I did.

Now to business...

I bought a Coga PA system today and am waiting its arrival. I have seen some posts of pics of where you guys are installing the actual horn under the hood but for some reason I dont think any of the spots I have seen so far will work. Its very cramped under my hood except in places really close to the engine (which Id rather not install there b/c the horn is plastic and could melt)

Are there any differences between the 2 door and 4 door engine bays? If so, does anybody have a pic of where they installed their horn under the hood that I can most likely replicate with little to no space issues?

Also: How are you guys feeding the wire through the firewall from the horn to the in-cab control unit? Is anybody running into issues where the wires provided by the manufacturer of your PA system arent long enough to reach inside the cab?

Any advice/help on this before I get my PA in the mail would be great!

Anybody with a Coga PA system please post pics if you can!

Thanks

I haven't got a pic of my "Bull Horn", but

It's right under where my OBA hose is coiled, on the left side, there's a small open plastic platform, that has room for a horn !!

Good luck

Remove the panel on the side of your dashboard. It will just pop right off. You will see a round hole filled with foam toward the upper left of the firewall. Straighten out a wire coat hanger and shove it through that hole. It will come out along the pinch seam along the top side of the engine bay near the fender well. Attach the wires to the hanger and pull them back into the cab.

yea, like daggo says, they're holes on each side and I have a 7-cond trailer cable going thru both to handle all my elec subs

Quote:
See the black cable at about 12:00 noon, that foam filled hole is about 1" diameter and you can get a lot thru it, this pic is on the passenger side and goes almost straight to the battery

Good luck

Nope, but whenever I'm done with dust/dirt (don't do mud), I hose it off and Armor all everything, I use armor All, because I've still got a 1 gal can of that crap I used on my competition/corvette engines, years ago-great stuff as long as it's not exposed to the sun
