I used caliper paint (brush on). 2 coast pretty thick and shines. I like it.

I bought the Crosby red D-rings through Quadratec back in November...but most of the paint was chipped off when I received them because of bad packaging. I repainted with glossy Krylon Dual...I don't remember whether it was Cherry Red or Banner Red...I have both still out in the barn. I also added the Daystar Isolators. They didn't match so I painted them too.

Did mine with a bright red.

May change it to a Commando Green-ish color down the road.

I was accused in that thread of wanting everyone to think I'm driving a 10A.

Whats the 10A club?

Hahaha exactly :-P

It's people who have ordered the 10th anniversary Rubicon.

Wait until they start getting the jeeps actually. Right now they are self contained in their own thread. Soon they will be all over the forum with their """"10A"""" attitude. They forget that every 2013 rubicon owner already owns a 10A edition. You can't stop it. I do like the new hood and the red seats are fun, but otherwise everything else would be taken off in the first year of ownership and replaced...

Haha! I'm in that 10A club! Too bad the bumpers don't come with D-rings. They always looked nice to me. I'm just glad I'm still in the jeep club!

All Wranglers should come with D-Rings. Open tow hooks can be hazardous. One of the first things I change on my jeeps is the bumpers...partly because there isn't a decent looking bumper on any Wrangler model...but mainly so I can put some usable hooks/rings on it. I've used my D-rings as anchors on a few technical rope rescues...open hooks cannot be used in that scenario.

I agree D-rings are more useful, and safer... but not sure all Wranglers should come with them. Most won't need em at the mall.

I like em painted to match body color, and if someone doesn't like it don't worry about it its NOT yours anyway.

Actually, 4WD could come in very handy at the mall in some climates. And since mall-crawling is ALL about appearance, you'd think painted D-rings would be the rage. Maybe we'll start seeing designer D-rings for mall-crawlers...ruby-encrusted for Rubicons, of course. Those with leather seats will need leather D-rings...pet lovers will have fake-fur D-rings..music lovers may need D-ring speakers. The possibilities are endless. D-ring mods will become the ultimate form of self-expression among Jeepers. Before you know it, the designer D-Ring Club will be snubbing their noses at the lowly "hookers".

They could always tie up their dog leash to the D rings so that their poodles do not run away in the mall parking lot's.

Why isn't anyone painting their D-ring isolators?

I had my powder coat guy make a scrap piece and paint it the same as my shackles. As for attaching? Believe it or not, a bunch of gorilla tape has stood up to high way driving, submersion in mud, etc! It was meant to be temporary but I think I'm just going to leave it lol!

Let me rephrase: Why doesn't anyone except Moabite paint their isolators?
