Painted the interior trim!

And I LOVE it!! Someone had asked to post pics of what and how I did it. I'm still trying to figure out bringing pics over from photobucket with notes and stuff, but if you click on the pics, you can see my comments on each one.

There was a video I found that was posted on jeepforum, I think, that really helped me figure out how to remove the vents. I'm not so good at videos (and I didn't save the link I had found with my search), so I just took pics. I hope this helps anyone out there wanting to do this!

I don't have the "after" pic inside the jeep because I'm still letting the trim cure. As soon as I have it, though, I'll post it.

Can't wait!! It's my first ever mod

I have been wanting to paint my trim black until I saw your post.
Then I realized that since my Jeep is silver I don't have to do anything!
Thank you so much!Really!

That was me who requested pictures. Looks great. Thanks!

What process did you go through to paint them? I've read about multiple different ways to go about this; just curious as to what you did.

Wal-Mart visit... Buy 2 cans of "Banner Red with Primer" ($5-6/can) exact match for Flame Red. I did 2 coats make sure your paint cures overnight in a dry environment.

You're welcome! And what Dukedallas said for the process, only I used Rustoleum primer, two coats, then Rustoleum glossy red, three coats. It's not *exactly* like the Flame Red, but at the time of purchase, I wasn't sure the Banner Red was right. I had them both in hand and the Banner Red was a smidge darker, so I went with the other. Luckily, installed you can't tell a difference.

It took forever to dry with the first coat of paint, but for the second and third, I set them out in the sun and they were done in under 30 minutes. I still forced myself to wait overnight for them to cure.

Looks great! I just finished mine as well to match my Orange Crush. I do like the darker interior over the tan, but it needed a little more color.

Just wrapped up my project. Very simple to do, and fun in the process.

I wet sanded the pieces just to get some texture on them, then used two coats of rustoleum auto primer, followed by two coats of MOPAR factory paint, and finished with a single coat of rustoleum clear coat.

Absolutely love the result. Pictures don't really do it justice, but I figured I'd add them anyway. If you're looking for a cheap & fun mod to make your Jeep feel more personal, this is it.

What color is that? I'm worried my midnight green wont show. Is that what you have? If so, your post just made my day.

Looks great! Fortunately, I don't have to do any of it because I went with Bright Silver Metallic. It seems Jeep has already finished the trim in uh...silver.

The paint code is on one of the stickers on your driver side door; then look it up on mopar's site or quadratec's mopar paint page for the official color name.

Not all of them are silver. I also have a BSM Jeep and my trim is dark graphite.

Based on your avatar and the fact it is a 2008, your Jeep is Jeep Green Metallic. Natural Green Pearlcoat is a very similar color, but it wasn't available in 2008.

If you truly want to see a "black green", check out Black Forest Green that was available on early 2012s.
