Hopefully I can get this done tomorrow, it is raining today. Whenever I get around to it I will post some shots as well.

This is another thread (like the painted slush mat thread) that I thought would start out awful (like Dozer tailpipes or something)....but I'm glad I looked. That looks really good.

Last time i used por 15 "20+ years ago" it needed to be top coated because UV breaks it down. Yes, i know it's under the vehicle, but seems to me it should be top coated anyway. Can't speak on its longevity either.I top coated it and only had the vehicle for a year or so afterward, but it held up for that period. One thing for sure is don't get it on your skin. It will not come off. I mean it stains your skin and will have to eventually wear off.

Also with winter approaching, does anyone spray coat their jeeps undercarriage with anything that will protect it from all the salt on the road? Again I have seen posts on this but can't seem to find them right now. Maybe because I'm on my phone..

Thanks
I used VHT flame proof header paint in flat black on my flowmaster. Scotch scuff pad some alcohol to clean it and then three coats. Two light ones and one heavy as the last coat. Three months old and still looks like new.

On the muffler (passenger side, exhaust exit the muffler) there is a little hole on the bottom (on the side wall of muffler). I don't believe that should be sealed.

Finally got it done. Chose to drop muffler instead of painting it still hanging. Muffler drops out real easy...A Rachet w/ 5/8" socket, large screwdriver and a light grease on the rubber grommet hanger makes the muffler drop (and install) much easier and prevents potential splitting or tearing of rubber grommet hangers.

I have suffered no mileage decrease with Flowmaster other than sometimes driving it a little harder to hear the sound. I have several videos on youtube, driving and startup. 80 series Flowmaster like the ones used on Camaro's. 2.5" inlet and dual 2.5" outlet. Video's are labeled 2012 Jeep Wrangler 80 series Flowmaster posted by firefighterheat.

When I first read this post I thought why would anyone paint the muffler how bad could it really look. I never see it. Sorry guys. I went and looked from the rear of my jeep and it does look wrong. So I washed it and wiped it down with acetone and painted it with flat engine paint. It really looks better. Thanks guys.
