Painting the Hardtop?

My JK is black with a Charcoal looking hardtop, I'm looking to paint the top a dark black to match the jeep. I wanna blackout my jeep entirely, and the top needs to be painted.

Does anyone know of a type of paint I should use? I'm not looking to do this cheaply, I still want my jeep to look good.

Hey boss. I read a ton of forums where JK owners have painted their hard tops with bedliner and other spray paints. I too was going to do it myself then decided to have it done professionally. I figured I'd pay the money and have quality, garaunteed work. I took my Jeep to a reputable body shop here in Miami and they did my JK in a day. They removed the top and all the hardware, including the rear glass and sparyed it with a paint specifically for fiberglass. It came out amazing! I paid $600 and it was worth every penny. The owner of the body shop even told me to come back if I ever have any issues with the paint which he assures I won't.
IMO, pay and have it done right.

BTW, I also removed the silver colored plastic steering wheel spoke covers in my Sahara and sprayed them with flat black Krylon for Plastic paint. They came out great.

Thanks.

Good call! I've spent alot of money on mods to now go and do a ghetto-rig-rattle-can bedliner paint job on my brand new Jeep. You wont be sorry.

You can get a gallon of PPG flat black for under 100 bucks, that's enough to do one twice
