Parking brake pop

So sometimes when i pull my parking break up to park it will pop and go slack. Then ill just let it down and pull it again and it will do it again. Has done this a million times but always fixes itself so havent really complained. I do bring it up with some force. Just curious if anyone else has this problem. A search yielded nothing.

I get this on occasion as well, usually when I pull up quickly or harder than normal on the e-brake lever. So far, nothing bad has happened...

Same thing here. I try to take it easy on it. I broke off the parking brake foot pedal on my 1978 CJ-7 years ago. Jeeps don't like to be "parked".

Heh... I pulled the emergency brake on my 2002 Mustang once and the spring popped out the end and flew into the windshield. I thought someone was shooting at me!

And Ford didn't think that was a warranty-worthy repair. Thus why I no longer drive Fords.

Mine did this from mile 0 and it would sometimes not hold the jeep. Had it replaced under warranty and it has been fine since. I believe the plate the cable attaches to was broken.
