Picked up a 2012 JKU Dozer, need help.

Hey guys I am new memeber to the board. I just picked up a 2012 JKU Dozer this past weekend. I have one question for you guys to see if this is common. When I am driving on the highway my softop rattles right about my driver side head. It does not rattle on the passenger side. When I hit some rough patches it rattles as well. I cant seem to figure out what is causing this. Any help would be appreciated.

Did the dealer show you how to put down and put back up your soft top?

I would take it back and have them do it again.

My soft top JKU is near silent. This is my 1st Wrangler and I am surprised at how quiet it is.

The top has only been down twice (hot humid rainy in FL) since my purchase 5/1/2012. The dealer said if I had any problems including having questions on the top to bring it back in and they would go over it with me.

If you don't want to go to the dealer here is a link to the proper way to put down and put back up your soft top. Give that a try and it may eliminate the sound. If not take it back to the dealer.

They did show me how to use the soft top. It did it when I pulled off the lot the day I bought it.

Sounds like it could be the sunrider latch. That thing is about over your ear.

If you unlatch the soft top at the windshield latches, and flip back the top to the sunrider position, you will see pretty fast if it is latched, and putting it back down and secured at the windshield should make sure it is all secure.

It appears to be latched down.

If you have confirmed it is on properly, it sounds like a warranty issue. Take it back for evaluation at the dealership.

The sounds you are describing are not normal.

I would guess the top is not secure along the door pillar. It needs to be tucked in not just held by the door. Take a look at both sides and see if the windo is tucked in on both sides...you will see what I mean.
