Nice looking work. Can't tell they were installed after factory, at least from the pictures. How long it take you?

thanks! came out nice. i took my time so it took a couple hours. i cut the inside of the bumper cover with a cutting wheel. the top side is thinner so i used a razor knife to make it look good.

Well, I think you proved, two hooks in the hand are better than a rubicon bumper in the bush!

A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. Look it up. There was no pun intended. He did a great job installing the hooks after some discouraging posts about doing it. I think he proved that it can be done with good results if you're careful.

Thumbs up

true, some said when you cut the bumper it turns out like a turd. not true. i am happy with the results. getting a used rubi bumper cover is a great idea too. if i have some extra cash one day i would still like to get one with the factory fog lights.

^ HAHA..... birdman and the cliches this morning...... You could have got all of that (including fog lights, by just getting a $100 rubi bumper) ----- but you did a great job with the tedious work.

Whatever works for you. Thanks for sharing....

Front tow hook install looks great! Seems like you did exactly what I did and a GREAT alternative to getting some tow points.

Check out some other jk forums and you should be able to get a set from a member that just put on a new bumper. I paid $35 from mine which were shipped from AZ.

I am in the process of installing the same tow hooks. I am just getting my butt kicked by those little plastic screws that hold the top and bottom sections of the bumper. I am almost ready to just drill the plastic screws out and loose the sections of bumper. Does anybody have a suggestion for getting them out? or any reason why I shouldnt just toss the top and bottom parts of the bumper?

I was able to get the screws/fasteners out by drilling a drywall screw into them and just pulling them out. Just in case it helps anyone else.
