Pikes Peak

I did the route of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb today in the Jeep. It's not off-road, but still fun and really scenic. The Jeep did pretty good, pulled over once on the way up to let it cool down, but I probably didn't have to.

Engine braking on the way down (about 5500FT descent or so) is pretty good in 1st and 2nd, the brakes were only 135F at the half way point down.

Nice pics. Too bad they paved it, much better when it wasn't paved.

I'm actually glad they did, now it's all paved like Mount Evans. The Jeep doesn't care but now I can take the Cobra up there without having my teeth rattled out.

Last time I did Pikes Peak was 2009 and it was still partial dirt, but it wasn't maintained well and was horrible washboard
